Based on Inverge Studios' description of the game,Creatures of Avawill allow players to tame over 20 unique alien creatures, using their knowledge of their homeworld to gain a deeper understanding of the planet. It’s not all fun though as Vic quickly learns that the fauna is under threat by a strange infection called The Withering which could potentially destroy the entire ecosystem. Across four biomes, players will need to work together with their new friends to push The Withering back and, in the process, help Vic unpack her troubled past.
Playing like a standard third-person action-adventure game,Creatures of Avais specially designed with non-aggressive combat mechanics in mind. That means in place of a sword or firearm, Vic uses an indigenous flute to tame wildlife and help heal the corruption spreading across the planet. Perhaps most exciting is thatthe story is co-created by Rhianna Pratchett, a veteran writer known for her work onBeyond Divinity,Tomb Raider(2013), andMirror’s Edge.
