The list includes every creature who participated in official battles, looking at the number of victories and defeats each of them has, and calculating their win rate. Whilesome of the most popular, like Charizard or Pikachu, were contenders for first place, there were several surprises. Some of Ash’s least-known Pokémon partners have an impressive record that not many fans are aware of.
As expected, Pikachu isone of Ash’s strongestand most effective partners throughout his adventures. The franchise’s mascot had an outstanding record of132 victories, by far the most among all the trainer’s Pokémon. The number of times it lost was also the highest, with 59 defeats under its belt, giving ita win rate of 69.1%. Nonetheless, it is important to remember that Pikachu remained by Ash’s side for more than 2 decades, giving him plenty of time to position itself at the top of the charts.

Charizard, one of the protagonist’s titular Pokémon, claimed a spot at the top with a more than respectable 72%, based on its 18 victories and 7 losses. Accompanying Charizard are Snorlax (78.6%), Kingler (71.4), Aipom (75%), Infernape (73.9%), Krookodile(80%), Greninja (66.7%), and Lucario (72.2%). Most of these Pokémon are considered by fans as Ash’s best partners, and their win rates prove why they deserve the title. Still, while some percentages might be much higher than others, the quantity of battles each of them participated in greatly varies, with some being fortunate enough to have a relatively small number.
Infernape and Snorlax Might Have Taken the Podium
When Studied Carefully, Their Records Are Impressive
Fans of the Pokémon franchise are aware of how essential to Ash’s journey partners like Pikachu, Charizard, or even Greninja have been. When thinking about the hero’s best battles, these creatures are the ones who come to mind, which is more than understandable, as they are extremely powerful and capable fighters. Nevertheless, when studying the numbers posted by Reekmuse, other Pokémon are given a chance to shine, like his beloved Infernape. While its win rate might not be the highest among all the partners, his number of victories more than makes up for this fact.
Infernape has an awe-inspiring number of 17 victories against only 6 losses, meaning that it was one of Ash’smost used Pokémon during theDiamond & Pearlera. When compared with some of his other best fighters, like Krookodile, who only battled 5 times and lost 1 of them, the worth of the Fire-type becomes more than obvious. Another shocking revelation washow important Snorlax was for Ashduring the first few seasons of the anime. Despite its best moments being when it fell asleep during combat, the gentle giant has an impressive record of 11 victories and only 3 defeats.

Even then, the data proves that Primeapeshould have been used much more, as he was one of Ash’s secret aces. While it only battled three times in the entire series, the monkey-like Pokémon was never defeated.
