The creators ofStar Wars: Skeleton Crew, Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, are sharing their hopes forSkeleton Crewseason 2ahead of tonight’s season 1 finale.Skeleton Crewhas already proven to be a huge hit amongstStar Warsfans, with the series having earned some of the franchise’s best critical and audience ratings for any live-actionStar WarsTV show.Skeleton Crew’s young casthave all boasted incredible performances, and this has helped the odds of season 2 for the show to look promising - which the creators are certainly hoping for.

Speaking toTechRadar, Watts insists that they have indeed givenSkeleton Crewseason 1 a satisfying conclusion, but that"if people want to see more Skeleton Crew, we’d be happy to make more.“In addition to Watt’s own words, Ford adds that they’re “dreaming of it [a second season]” and they’ve already “come up with different possibilities, so never say never.” The creators have even teased what these “different possibilities” may be.

Watt hints that"there’s always a chance that they [the kids] could meet some surprising people in the future.“Given the fact this story takes place in the “Mandoverse”, it seems as if Watts could be hinting here at some other notable characters fromThe Mandalorian,Ahsoka, and more. Ford goes on to discuss the advantage they have with such a young leading cast, teasing that,“if [the kids] appeared in something else, we’d be telling the story of how they grew up and found their place in the galaxy.”

What The Creators' Hopes Mean For Skeleton Crew Season 2

They Are Thrilling, But Guarantee Little To Nothing

WhileSkeleton Crewseason 2 would be welcomed with open arms, the creators' own hopes unfortunately don’t hold much merit, which was seen quite plainly withThe Acolyte. The latter, which was evidently headed towards season 2 with its rather inconclusive ending, was abruptly canceled in August 2024 - presumably because it under-performed in terms of viewership.Star Warshas proven, then, that they are not granting new installments just for the sake of it, which meansSkeleton Crewwill have to have truly proven itself to earn season 2 for certain.
