Diablo 4’sfirst major expansion,Vessel of Hatred, launched on October 7 to mixed reception, largely due to server issues on launch day. For the most part, critics and fans have largely praised it for its new class and interesting worldbuilding. However, its introduction saw a huge shift in the best class in the game, as players have flocked to the new OP option.

There are plenty of things players can do toprepare forDiablo 4: Vessel of Hatred, but looking into the newest class, the Spiritborn, is a must. The Spiritborn utilizes a mixture of glaives, polearms, and quarterstaves, as well as their own Spirit Guardians - a Jaguar, Gorilla, Eagle, and Centipede - which can be used to unleash devastating attacks. However, importantly, at least while theVessel of Hatredexpansion is in its early days, the Spiritborn class is worth playing for one particular reason: it’s ridiculously overpowered.

Why Spiritborn Is So Powerful Right Now

It’s Absolutely Broken In The Best Possible Way

The Spiritborn class is very much OP right now inDiablo 4’s Vessel of Hatredexpansion, largely thanks to its powerful Guardian Spirits that can deal ridiculous amounts of damage and wipe out entire groups of enemies with ease. The Centipede Guardian Spirit, for example, deals a ton of poison damage while also healing the player using a life drain-style mechanic. Of course, it’s important to note that the Spiritborn class was intended to be OP at launch, withDiablo 4’shead Rod Fergusson telling theKinda Funny Gamescastthat “It’s going to be broken in the most fun way.”

This isn’t anything new, asBlizzard obviously wants players to try out the new class and see all the hard work its developers put into crafting it. Naturally, it was going to be immensely powerful at launch, making players want to considerstarting a new character forVessel of Hatred, rather than continuing with their current one. However, this may not always be the case, so for fans who are gettingVessel of Hatredon day one, it’s worth giving the Spiritborn a whirl while it’s still powerful.

Will Spiritborn Get Nerfed In Diablo 4?

It Likely Will Eventually, But Not Any Time Soon

Diablo 4is a constant balancing act, with each new update tweaking and nerfing certain classes to make it a - at least ideally - fun and balanced experience across the board. So,it’s extremely likely that, eventually, the Spiritborn class will get nerfed. However, for right now, it will stay just as powerful and remain one of thebest parts of theVessel of Hatredexpansion.

Diablo 4 Fans Just Got Another Reason To Invest In A PS5 Pro

If Sony Fans weren’t already sold on the new PlayStation 5 Pro, Diablo 4 fans might just have a major reason to get their hands on one.

At the very least, like all the other classes, Spiritborn will be nerfed in the next Season to give players the space to enjoy its new content. This has been the case with the majority of the classes inDiablo 4, and the Spiritborn is no exception. Of course, there’s a good chance that it’ll remain powerful for a long while, as it is, after all, a major selling point of theDiablo 4: Vessel of Hatredexpansion, but eventually, fans should expect it to lose some of the luster it started with.
