Summary

M. Night Shyamalan’sTrapincludes an entirely original soundtrack of songs performed by Saleka as Lady Raven, filling the psychological thriller with modern pop music. From the moment the core concept was revealed for Shyamalan’s 2024 movie, it was clear that music would play a big role. The first part of the film is entirely set at a concert for Lady Raven thatTrap’s main character and cast memberCooper (Josh Hartnett) attends with his daughter, unknowing that it was a trap to catch him as The Butcher.

Throughout the entirety of Cooper’s search for an escape beforeTrap’s ending, music from Lady Raven’s concert is either heard or shown through the performances. Shyamalan delivers a true concert feeling through all the music and pandemonium surrounding the event. With his daughterSaleka Shyamalan playing Lady Raven, the real-life singer wrote and performed completely new songs inTrap. They are all collected for the film’s official soundtrack, which is great after several of the catchy tunes can easily get stuck in a viewer’s head.

She asks each person who released someone to turn the light on their phone on after, which brings Riley and most others in attendance to do just that. Saleka then plays the piano to perform the song.

“Liar” by Saleka- Another song of Lady Raven’s that plays inTrapis “Liar.” This is not one of the songs directly shown as she performs it, as it instead plays in the background as Cooper looks around the arena for exits and at the state of its security and police force. Parker then comes out of a secret exit through the floor, which tempts Cooper to try and escape through this tunnel.

“Pieces” and “Empathize” by Saleka- As Cooper looks around the arena for different exit strategies, more of Lady Raven’s songs play through the speakers in the background. This likely includes “Pieces” and “Empathize”, as Saleka is not directly shown performing either song.

“Love You” by Saleka- The next song that is heard by Lady Raven is “Love You.” This one plays as Cooper returns to the concert after missing so much of it as he searched for exits, caused distractions like the deep dryer explosion, and more.
