WARNING! This article contains SPOILERS for The White Lotus season 3, episode 6!Belinda makes a potentially revealing reference to Al Pacino’s 1983Scarfacemovie inThe White Lotusseason 3, episode 6, whichmay give some clues to how the final shootout and mysterious death will unfold. Each season ofThe White Lotuskicks off by revealing that one person at the resort will die by the end of the week, leaving audiences to dissect each storyline to attempt to figure out who the victim will be and how they’ll die. Currently, the only character who seems safe isBelinda’s son, Zion, as he finds the floating body after an unseen shootout.

Belinda herself has tragically been one of themost likely characters to beThe White Lotusseason 3’s undisclosed victim. She’s been fearing for her life since discovering Greg was involved in Tanya McQuoid’s season 2 death, with Zion’s arrival in Thailand complicating matters further. Emphasizing a darker shift in her mentality,Belinda quotes Al Pacino’s “First, you get the money”Scarfaceline to Zion, to which he questions her getting “gangster” on him. Referring to her conflict with Greg, Belinda responds, “Gotta get gangster around here,” with herScarfacenods potentially hiding some foreshadowing for season 3’s shootout conclusion.

What Belinda’s Reference To Scarface Means In The White Lotus Season 3, Episode 6

Belinda’s Quote About Money, Power & Women Applies To Some White Lotus Characters

Initially, Belinda’s reference toScarfaceisn’t meant to be in connection to her fears about Greg. The line that Belinda paraphrases to Zion issaid byAl Pacino’s Tony Mantanawhen discussing how to prioritize romance and one’s career, “In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women.” Belinda is trying to tell her son to focus on school now and romance later, but Tony Mantana may not be the best role model when considering what happens to him.

ThememorableScarfacequotefalls in line with some of the themes explored inThe White Lotusseason 3, such asthe stereotypical concept of women wanting to be with men for their power and money. Chloe is implied to only be with Greg to maintain the lifestyle afforded by his money and power, with Timothy also believing that Victoria would no longer want to be with him, not to mention live anymore, without his wealth and status. Victoria herself also believes as much about the young women choosing to be with the older men on Greg and Chloe’s boat.

Of course, what they don’t know is that Greg’s money and power are only a product of his wife’s death, which was technically the result ofGreg working with Quentin to kill Tanyaand steal her wealth. Meanwhile, Timothy’s assets have been frozen, everything they have will be forfeited, and their reputations will plummet due to his involvement in a criminal money laundering scheme. They might have gotten their money, power, and women, but it’s all going to fall apart due to the wrong ways in which they attained or maintained them, similar to Tony’s downfall inScarface’s ending.

Scarface’s Ending Has Some Dark Similarities To The White Lotus Season 3’s Death Setup

Scarface Might Tease How The White Lotus Season 3’s Shootout Happens

Belinda’s reference toScarfacemay also go much deeper than the quote’s parallels to the backstories ofThe White Lotusseason 3 characterslike Greg or Tim.Scarfacehas one of the most iconic gangster movie endings in recent Hollywood history, and it’s difficult to ignore the similarities that have already been teased forThe White Lotusseason 3’s ending with its opening sequence. In fact, given thecomparable plot points of money laundering, drug use, and shootouts in a lavish location, Belinda’sScarfacequote could foreshadow howThe White Lotus’ shootout will commence and which characters may be involved.

As far asThe White Lotus’ opening sequence reveals, season 3’s ending will include a shootout at the resort, which concludes with a body floating in the water by the meditation center. It’s unclear how we get to that place, but the final notes aren’t too dissimilar fromScarface’s ending and the death ofAl Pacino’sScarfacecharacter.

The White Lotus Season 3, Episode 6’s Big Death Fakeout Is Probably Way Darker Than The Real Killing Will Be

The White Lotus has included some pretty rough death visions for Jason Isaacs' Timothy Ratliff, but the season’s death likely won’t be half as bad.

Scarfaceends after Tony is found by the FBI for money laundering and tax evasion, with kingpin Sosa vowing revenge against him for allowing a journalist to write an exposé revealing his crimes. Tony soon goes on a cocaine binge, Sosa’s men invade his estate and kill guards while pursuing Tony, and Tony uses an assault rifle to open fire on as many as possible while they also shoot him. The movie closes afterTony is killed by gunshot wounds that send him falling over the balcony into a poolby a statue reading “The World Is Yours.”

InThe White Lotusseason 3, we know that Tim’s money-laundering crimes have also been discovered by the FBI, with the Ratliff family’s inevitable downfall leading him to imagine fatally shooting himself and his wife. Furthermore, while Tony got high on cocaine,Tim has been abusing LorazepaminThe White Lotusseason 3. Additionally, we saw Gaitok take back his gun from Tim, which could eventually lead to a confrontation with other guards. With the money laundering, drug use, and potential raid at the resort similarities,Tim could end up engaging in a shootout a la Tony Mantana.

The icing on the cake is the fact that, like Tony falling into a pool by a statue, we already know thatThe White Lotusseason 3’s dead body is found in a pool near a Buddhist statue. It’s most likely that Tim, or whoever is responsible for the shootout, will be the one whose dead body falls into the water, with the dark downfall of their spiritual stay in Thailand potentially drawing parallels to Tony ironically dying next to his “The World Is Yours” statue, symbolizing his death as a result of his own violent pursuit of wealth and power.

Does This Mean Tim WILL Be The One Who Dies In The White Lotus Season 3?

If Tim Has The Most Similarities To Tony, Is It His Body In The Water?

While Tim has been responsible for the most gun-related dark fantasies inThe White Lotusseason 3, thatmay be a red herring for his true role in the finale.Tim’s story being so focused on deathactually makes his likelihood of dying go down, asThe White Lotushas yet to kill off a character in a manner that’s been so clearly set up. For instance, although Tanya correctly feared Quentin was trying to kill her inThe White Lotusseason 2’s ending, her death ultimately happened when she slipped and hit her head trying to escape the boat.

New The White Lotus Season 3 Theory Reveals Who Dies And, Not Going To Lie, I Find It Extremely Satisfying

A popular theory for The White Lotus season 3 would bring the franchise’s biggest villain to justice if another character can quietly make it happen.

With the comparisons toScarface’s story, Tim would fit the bill most closely to have a Tony Mantana-like ending. But, that might be too on the nose.Tim will likely still be involved in the shootout in some way, but that Tony Mantana death could go do a different character instead, such as the devious Greg, the thieves responsible for robbing the resort, or an unsuspecting guest caught in the gunfire. Regardless,The White Lotusseason 3’s death is almost certain to carry an ironic final note in the same vein as Tony Mantana’s pool and statue image.
