Hallmark’s unique time-travel drama seriesThe Way Homehas wandered back for its third season, and now the show has scored a season 4 renewal. Created for the small screen by Heather Conkie, Alexandra Clarke, and Marly Reed, the show concerns three generations of women from the Landry family as they attempt to rebuild their fractured relationship while living together in a small Canadian town. While that may sound like the usual Hallmark Channel fodder, the big twist is that the Landry women are also time travelers who can visit the past via a pond on their family property.

Though the time-travel romance genre was popularized byshows likeOutlander,The Way Homeputs a cozier spin on the idea without skimping on suspense. Each season of the series thus far has introduced new wrinkles into its supernatural elements, and this makes for a fascinating watch. On top of that, new twists and turns mean thatThe Way Homecan continue into the future with more seasons, especially as things get more tangled and complicated. With the Hallmark original series becoming a staple, it came as no surprise that Hallmark renewedThe Way Homefor an additional season.

The time-travel aspects of the show’s story open the door for the introduction of new characters, though the series also likes to explore the main characters' pasts as well. More time-travel shockers are likely in store as well, and Colton can’t be the only surprise time-traveler inThe Way Home. As the season 3 finale has proven, any answers the Landrys get only lead to more mind-bending questions.
