What Happened in The Elusive Samurai Episode #7?
The Elusive Warriors Meet an Ally Hungry for Battle and Rice
After the daring sabotage of Sadamune’s imperial orders to seize Suwa Grand Shrine,Tokiyuki’s forces go into reconnaissance modeforThe Elusive Samuraiepisode #7. They observe Sadamune’s consolidated territory enclosing Suwa from the east and the west and see an opportunity to survey Sadamune’s activities in the north. This prompts Tokiyuki to volunteer for the mission amid protests by Yorishige, who finds himself unable to perceive the future in this case, sulking uncontrollably and trying in vain to stop the young prince from venturing out.
The process brings the group in contact with Fubuki, a deadly dual-wielding samurai who easily contends with both Ayako and Kojiro despite them being already proficient at a young age. Still, when Fubuki sees Shizuku observing the fight, he stops to apologize for his actions at her shrine, at one point having eaten the place’s food stores and leaving Yorishige, a similarly gluttonous man, upset and hungry. But Tokiyuki successfully brings Fubuki into his fold while learning of the village he’s guarding,a vital outpost that stands in the way of an assault on Suwa Grand Shrine.
InThe Elusive Samuraiepisode #7, the team learns of a general in Sadamune Ogasawara’s army aware of how strategically valuable this attack would be, referred to as Shokan. Shokan is a brutally violent bandit recruited as a warrior for the Ogasawara army. He has no scruples about who he kills in battle and is shown executing innocent villagers en masse. In the release ofThe Elusive Samuraiepisode #8,Tokiyuki and his allies will soon see firsthand the might of their new opponent.
