The Bacheloretteseason 21’s Devin Strader is in damage control mode after Jenn Tran’s season finale, sohe released now-deleted private text messages between him and Jenn to attempt to tell his side of the story. DuringThe Bacheloretteseason 21"After the Final Rose" episode, Jenn sobbed as she revealed that Devin broke off their engagement about a month ago via phone call. She said that he’d told her that he didn’t love her anymore, and he never wanted to get engaged in the first place.

In a now-deleted Instagram story, which was screenshot by X user@kimchik1tty,Devinshared and then quickly deleted private text messages between him and Jenn. In the exchange, Jenn asked why Devin wanted to talk to her in person, to which Devin responded,“I wanted to tell you all of this in person because you deserved more than a phone call.“He went on to write that he didn’t just spring things on her, andhe wanted to talk in person, but she"forced it out"of him.

In the texts, Jenn said that Devin already seemed to have made up his mind and didn’t seem to want to have a conversation, to which Devin responded,“Just last week Friday you said we should break up. You’ve said that before.“Devin added that he really took it to heart because he’d been having doubts about their whole relationship. He said that neither of them were happy, and Jenn didn’t deserve this.Jenn responded that she knew that she said she wanted to break up,“and I was emotionally charged when I said that and I obviously didn’t go through with that.”

Devin obviously shouldn’t have releasedprivate messages between him and Jenn, and he seems to have realized that because he deleted them. He wanted to show that Jenn thought about breaking up too, but this might backfire becauseJenn told Devin duringThe Bacheloretteseason 21 finale that it wasn’t that he changed his mind about their relationship, but what he did in the aftermathof their breakup that especialy hurt her. This included him following Maria Georgas on Instagram, and clubbing with fellow contestant Jeremy Simon in New York City. There was no excuse for that.
