The announcement confirmed that “SupacellSEASON 2 IS COMING.” Along with the announcement, the streamer included a poster for the sophomoric effort, which showed the main characters and the titleSupacell 2. The Netflix update did not include a release date for season 2 nor any information on casting or the production schedule.

Why The Supacell Season 2 Renewal Was Inevitable?

Supacell Season 1 Showed Promise.

Upon its release this past summer,Supacellreceived great reviewsfor season 1, whichaccumulated to a rare perfect 100% Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics loved the show’s cinematography, direction, and exploration of superpowers within a group of Black people, a concept that is not seen frequently on television. Audience reception was also generally positive, with a 73% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Not long after the series premiere, Rapman was hopeful for a show renewal since he had mapped out at least three seasons to tell the full extent of the story.

Supacellalso helped to establish Rapman as a TV talent. Like the characters in the show, Rapman is from London and is primarily known as a British hip-hop and rap artist. He made his feature film debut in 2018 withBlue Storyand is also known for a YouTube series calledShiro’s Story. The Netflix series was his first chance to make a high-profile TV series, and he did so with grace in making such a thoughtful show.Supacellseason 2will be a further chance for Rapman to be established as a great rising talent.
