AStardew Valleyplayer has used mods to catch the most difficult fish in the game without even touching her mouse.Fishing inStardewis notoriously difficult, requiring careful timing, sensitive reflexes, and, most frustratingly, a lot of luck. While there are some ways to influence which fish you cast, and to make the process somewhat easier as the game goes on, the toughest fish will always find ways to slip off your line -especially the elusive Legendary Fish.
But one player, who goes by emmalution on YouTube, recently managed to catchLegendwithout using her hands. Legend is typically considered the second-hardest fish to catch, barring only its cousinLegend II: it only comes out during rainy days in Spring, requires a fishing level of at least 10, and can only be caught bycasting your fishing lineinto a very specific part of the lake. It also tends to have a very unusual movement style when it’s on the line, shifting rapidly between various patterns.

In the video, though, emmalution’s fishing bar is the same size as the entire mini-game window, which means the fish can’t escape her grasp no matter how hard it tries. At one point, she even removes her hand from the controls, simply waiting for the catch meter to fill up as she reels in Legend without even trying. Although it’s not technically cheating, after catching the fish, she throws up her hands and says, “That felt so wrong.”
Stardew Mods Make Fishing A Breeze
How To Increase Your Fishing Bar Beyond Natural Limits
This was only possible usingRaffadax,an extensiveStardew Valleymodthat adds hundreds of new items to the game. Many of these offer powerful endgame buffs, increasing the player’s stats well over their natural limits. As seen in the video here, emmalution uses an item called Jungle Elixir to increase her farmer’s Fishing level by 50.
“Pure Profit”: Stardew Valley Player Becomes A Millionaire Without Ever Leaving The Farm
Stardew Valley has several things a player can focus on, like farming, ranching, or relationships. In fact, you don’t even have to leave the farm.
But how does that help her catch Legend without touching it? It’s a little known fact that, each time the player’s Fishing level increases inStardew Valley, so too does the size of the green barin their fishing mini-game. This isn’t usually noticeable, since the increases are incremental, and fishing typically goes no higher than 10. However, when the farmer’s fishing level is increased over 50, the green bar apparently gets big enough to make catching go by automatically.

Raffadax isn’t exactly a collection of cheats; it takes a lot of effort to develop powerful potions like this one, even if they are arguably overpowered when the player finally gets there. The mod also includes new trees, new crops, new NPCs, and new Artisan Goods machines. It’s a massive piece of content that rivals Stardew Valley Expanded in ambition and scope, and is well worth considering when you feel like you’ve run out of things to do in Pelican Town. In case you’re curious about what Raffadax has to offer, emmalutiontypically streams it on her YouTube channel on Thursday evenings at 7 PM GMT.
Our Take: Fishing In Stardew Could Use A Boost
Fishing Can Be Tough
It’s no secret thatfishing inStardew Valleycan be tough. Fish are slippery, and it’s very easy to lose a catch to a sudden, unexpected movement. I don’t mind it as much as some other players, but I notoriously love a fishing mini-game. But my partner, whom I frequently play with, can’t stand it - if we get a quest from an NPC asking us to catch a particular species, she’ll sometimes ask me to catch one for her, too. She’s often said she wishes she could buy a piece of tackle or craft a machine that would do the fishing for her.
Of course, in vanillaStardew, she can’t, but she’s overjoyed at discovering this mod. I’m sure a lot of other players are in the same (fishing) boat, as I’ve heard countless friends and strangers on the internet complain about their difficulties with the fishing mini-game. If that’s the case for you, too, you may want to check out the Raffadax mod forStardew Valley- short of actually cheating or simply ignoring it, it’s the easiest way to get around actually having to engage with the fishing mini-game.

Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley is a charming indie farming scene that took the world by storm. After inheriting a run-down farm from their grandfather, the player moves to Stardew Valley to start a new life away from the city. Grow crops, raise animals, befriend the villagers, and discover the secrets the valley has to offer.
