Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Battle of Jakku - Insurgency Rising #4

Star Warshas unmasked its newest Imperial Inquisitor in its new post-Return of the Jediera. Following the Battle of Endor, the Galactic Civil War was far from over with the Imperial Navy not surrendering until nearly a year later following the Battle of Jakku. To that end,Star Wars’newBattle of Jakkuseries has been revealing the events leading up to that definitive conflict, including the emergence of a new Inquisitor who came to duel Luke Skywalker himself.

Luke Duels New Star Wars Inquisitor

While there were plenty of threats from the shattered Empire such asOperation Cinderand Imperial forces rallying in the Western Reaches of the galaxy, the Rebellion-turned-New Republic was deeply concerned with Moff Adelhard and his brutal Iron Blockade around the Anoat Sector, denying that the Empire was truly fractured and committed to leading a new age of order. After the New Republic sent a small team to investigate and was subsequently captured, Luke Skywalker came to the rescue only to face a new hooded Inquisitor wielding a red lightsaber:

Calling this new Inquisitor an impostor, Luke could already sense the truth about this dark agent before her hood had even been removed. Likewise,Darth Vader’s Inquisitors were thought to have died outbefore the Galactic Civil War even began, so this Inquisitor’s revealed identity in Alex Segura and Leonard Kirk’sInsurgency Rising #4does make a lot of sense.

Reyna Forsees Luke Skywalker’s Future

Star Wars' Newest Inquisitor Is Reyna Oskure

An Anzati Working With the Acolytes of the Beyond

Revealed to be Reyna Oskure,it seems the long-lived Anzati had merely been posing as an Inquisitorin a bid to show Moff Adelhard the true power of the Force, both the dark side and the light wielded by Luke Skywalker. That said, it seems Reyna is not as trained in lightsaber combat as she initially appeared in the previous issue, as Luke easily disarms her inInsurgency Rising #4. That being said, that doesn’t mean Oskure isn’t dangerous in other ways.

A member of the dark side cult known as theAcolytes of the Beyond,Reyna is dedicated to furthering the dark side’s power and using it to support the parts of the Empire that are still standing, most notably Adelhard’s Iron Blockade. As seen in previous issues, both Reyna and the Acolytes' leader Yupe Tashu have plans for the Imperial Moff, believing that he may be the key to securing and maintaining the dark side’s hold over the galaxy, even in the wake of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader’s demise.

Reyna May Be Defeated, But She’s Seen Luke Skywalker’s Future

A Dark Rivalry With Moff Adelhard

Despite being defeated by Luke,Reyna claims to have foreseen Skywalker’s future with Moff Adelhard, saying that Luke and Adelhard’s imminent confrontation will only be the first ahead of his seemingly inevitable and “greatest” victory. To that end, it does seem like Reyna can indeed divine the future, at least in part, seeing as how Luke and Adelhard confront each other before the issue’s end (though the Moff does survive). That said, it will be fascinating to see ifMoff Adelhard does achieve the victory Reyna claims he will, as well as what this new “Inquisitor’s” fate will be going forward in this newStar Warsseries.

Despite the fears of Obi-Wan and Yoda, Luke’s faith in his father was proved well-founded when Vader returned to the light.
