The main and most exciting card in this deck is theTriumphant LightStaraptor. This Stage 2 card has the ability to inflict a huge amount of damage, potentially blowing away the opponent with ease. The Colorless-type Pokémon has an attack calledBrave Bird, which deals an absurd 130 damage for three Energy. However, it does have a drawback:it also deals 20 damage to itself. Another benefit of using Staraptor is its 150 HP, giving you enough durability to deal with most cards in the mobile game. This underused card is the offensive heart of this deck.

Its ability, Nightmare Aura, deals 20 damage to the opponent every time you attach a Darkness Energy to the card. I found this incredibly useful when using this deck, as it allowed me to consistently deal damage while setting up both Staraptor and Darkrai ex’s other attack.Dark Prism delivers a solid 80 damage, enabling you to easily knock out the opponent once it’s charged up.
Use Professor’s Research and Poké Ball to cycle through the deck and pull Staraptor and Darkrai ex.
Best Strategy To Win With a Barry & Staraptor Deck
The Synergy Between Barry, Staraptor, And Darkrai Ex Makes For An Aggressive Tactic
The best start for this deck would haveDarkrai ex occupy the Active Spot from the first turn. With 140 HP, it is able to withstand most early battle attacks. From here, dedicate the first few turns of energy to the ex card. This will hit for 20 damage each time, while also being able to put Starly on the bench to start the Staraptor evolution line. Dark Prism can be used once this card has three energy on it for 80 damage.
The Giant Cape or Rocky Helmet tool cards can easily be swapped for the Pokémon Communication in this deck.
By this point,Staraptor should be ready on the Bench, although it might have no energy attached. This is where you canretreat Darkrai ex, which costs two energy, anduse Dawn to transfer its remaining energy to Staraptor. You can alsoplace a second Darkrai ex on the Benchto activate its Nightmare Aura ability. From here, you candedicate energy to the second Darkrai ex, as Staraptor should no longer require additional energy.
Now the Barry supporter card can be used.This will reduce the energy cost of Brave Bird by two. This means that you are able to do 130 damage for just one energy. This can be repeated with the second Barry card in the next turn. Cyrus can also be used to pick off easy targets, and aim to knock out a card with less than 130 HP. This combination of cards will make for relentless, aggressive damage, making it difficult for your opponent to keep up. The Triumphant Light Barry and Staraptor are a fantastic combination for success inPokémon TCG Pocket.
