Warning! SPOILERS about Suits LA season 1, episode 5 ahead.
Harvey appearing inSuits LAepisode 4’s flashbacks doesn’t conclude his involvement in theSuitsspinoff, but I really hope his appearances inSuits LA’s main timeline won’t undo his best character development inSuits, especially givenSuits LAepisode 5’s ending reveal.Suits LA’s premiere had little time to introduce its main character Ted Black before it landed him in deep trouble after Stuart and Samantha cut him out of the merger, effectively endangering Ted’s law firm and prompting him to do anything to retain his clients.Representing Lester Thompson would have kept him away from Stuart, helping Ted.
While keeping Lester as a client was useful, the case gets progressively more difficult. Ted’s New York flashbacks are a trove to establish why the merger hurt him so much and Ted’s strong bond with Kevin, but they also paint a clear picture ofTed’s code that prevents him from representing someone he believes to be guilty. This was the other point of contention in Lester’s case, as Lester wanted to be represented by someone who believed him. The revelation inSuits LAepisode 5 changes everything and Harveyreturning to help Ted on this risks undoing his best development.

Suits LA Episode 5 Ends With Lester Admitting To The Crime
Lester insisted fromSuits LA’s premiere that he didn’t want Stuart to represent him becauseStuart suggested he pled self-defense instead of trying to defend himself, which made Lester sure thatStuart didn’t believe in his innocence. Lester only agreed to go with Stuart because Ted had assured him Stuart was the best defense attorney in the country. However, the merger Stuart cut Ted out of changed everything, pushing Ted to attempt to win back Lester so that he could retain him as a client and go against his code not to represent people to keep them out of prison.
I’m Sorry, But Suits LA’s Harvey Specter Debut Failed To Sell Me His Supposed Close Friendship With Ted Black
Gabriel Macht made his highly-anticipated first appearance in Suits LA, but Harvey Specter’s relationship with Ted Black failed to impress.
Ted and Kevin had a hard time trying to understand whether Lester was telling them the truth because they kept discovering something that could be seen as a motive, whether that was Lester’s partner stealing from the studio or Lester’s wife cheating on him with his partner.Kevin’s trip to Lester’s house to challenge him about his statements mirroring his script finally forced Lester to admit that he killed his partner inSuits LAepisode 5, which makes Ted knowingly go against his code were he to learn the truth about Lester and poses a massive problem for Ted’s firm.

Ted Could Seek Harvey’s Help To Still Win Lester’s Case In Suits LA
Harvey Is Scheduled To Appear In 2 More Episodes Of Suits LA
It’s unknown what prompts Ted to reconnect with Harvey, but it’s confirmed that Harvey will appear inSuits LAbeyond the flashbacks, asTed will reach out to his friend from their days in New York while he deals with a major crisis. Any episode ofSuits LAsaw Ted deal with monumental crises, with them getting exponentially worse now that Stuart’s evaluation of Ted’s reaction to the Lester problem proved on point, given how Lester’s lies tried to mislead them all when he did murder his partner. This storyline can thus believably set upHarvey’s return inSuits LA.
[Defending someone guilty goes against Ted’s code, but] he can’t really get rid of Lester as a client, as Ted needs to win his first post-merger trial if he wants Black & Associates to survive.

Learning that Lester killed his partner and lied to cover it up could put Ted in a very difficult spot, as it goes against every fiber of his being to “defend bad guys,” and he can’t really get rid of Lester as a client, as Ted needs to win his first post-merger trial if he wants Black & Associates to survive. The moral quandary of needing to win the case and not wanting someone guilty to walk away scot-free could be enough for Ted to call Harvey for help, especially given how Elizabeth Smith proved to be a worthy adversary.
Suits LA Should Not Let Harvey Be In The Wrong Side Of The Case Again
Harvey’s Whole Reasoning For Joining Mike In Seattle Was To Fight For The Little Guy
ThroughoutSuits, Harvey played fast and loose with the rules, often bending them to come out on top, whether that meant lying to his clients, tricking them into doing his bidding, breaking attorney-client privilege, or bribing witnesses. His past would make Harvey the perfect lawyer to help Ted solve his conundrum, as he often did shady thingsto protect clients he didn’t choose to ultimately help his firm. However,Suits’ entire run also showcased Harvey Specter’s redemption arc, especially after he decided to join Mike in Seattle inSuits’ series finale.
Gabriel Macht is set to appear in three episodes in total inSuits LAto establish a connection betweenSuitsand its spinoff, and he already appeared in a flashback inSuits LAepisode 4, “Batman returns.”

Harvey and Mike’s friendship throughoutSuits’ nine seasons especially blossomed when they were up against the biggest companies, fighting the pro bono cases Mike suggested, which Harvey also surprisingly enjoyed.Stepping away from Litt Wheeler Williams Bennett was a major decision that truly showed the progress Harvey made when he chose to join Mike’s legal clinic, progress that could be undone if Harvey were to come up with unethical plans to help Ted with his Lester case. Hopefully, Harvey’s arc inSuits LAcan keep his bestSuitscharacter development, or it will make his cameo leave a sour taste.
