While you can gain many temporary bonuses inPath of Exile 2from completing different tasks, some of the buffs you earn are permanent for your character. Each of these continuous boons offers something different, from stat increases to more skill points to spend on your build. Throughout each Act of the game, you have more chances to add more permanent bonuses to your character as they grow.
Not every permanent bonus will work for everybuild inPath of Exile 2, as every class has unique stats and abilities they want to prioritize. Thankfully, most of the eternal buffs you can unlock are universal across multiple archetypes. However, some bonuses require you to make a choice, sosometimes you will have to choose one of two available buffsgoing forward in your playthrough.

One of the most common ways you’ll earn permanent bonuses is todefeat different bosses in every story Actof the game. Many of these foes are either part of the main story or seen in side quests you can pursue along your journey. Another way to get these buffs is tocomplete optional tasks or missionsoutside the main story, such as gathering equipment orcrafting gear inPath of Exile 2for specific NPCs.

There aresix story Acts where you can collect permanent bonuses, named Acts 1-3 and Cruel Acts 1-3. A Cruel Act is a higher difficulty setting for the existing campaign Acts, featuring new content you can explore for new gear and higher-level enemies.The requirements for gaining permanent buffs when playing on Cruel difficulty are the same, but the stat boosts are changed to become completely different.

Defeat theBeira of the Rotten Packboss within this early area of Act 1.
Hunting Grounds
+2 Passive Skill Points
DefeatThe Crowbellhidden boss in Act 1 by exploring this area thoroughly.
Freyhorn
+30 Spirit
Follow the side quest given to you by the NPC Finn that has youcomplete all the Ritualsin this area. Then, summon and defeat theKing in the Mistboss to gain this stat boost.
Ogham Farmlands
Follow the side quest given to you by the NPC Una where you have tofind a lost lutein the area. Bringing the lute back to Una rewards you with the stat boost.
Ogham Manor
+20 Maximum Life
Go to theChapel of the Fallenin this area, then find the Psalm of Madness. TheCandlemass, The Living Riteboss here guarding the Psalm can be defeated to gain the stat boost.
Keth
Defeat theKabala, Constrictor Queenboss within a snake pit in this area.
Valley of the Titans
Complete the"Ancient Vows"quest inPath of Exile 2, which has you collect the Kabala Clan Relic and Sun Clan Relic, then place them at the altar found in the Valley of the Titans. You can then choose between one of the two stat bonuses offered.
Deshar
Follow the side quest given to you by the NPCShambrinwhere you must find the"Final Letter"from a corpse in the area. Bringing this note back to Shambrin rewards you with the stat boost.
The Spires of Deshar
+10% Lightning Resistance
Find theSisters of Garukhan Shrineand activate itto receive the stat boost.
The permanent stat bonus offered in Act 2 from the Valley of the Titans can be changed at any time, so you can always adjust which buff you have as you craft out your character’s build in your continuing adventures.
The Venom Crypts
Follow the side quest given to you by the NPCServiwhere you have tofind a Venom Vialwithin the area. When you do this, bring the Vial back to Servi, who offers you three possible buffs you can’t switch later.
Jiquani’s Machinarium
+10% Fire Resistance
Defeat theBlackjaw, the Remenantboss within this area and take theFlame Coreto receive this boost.
Aggorat
Place a Sacrificial Heart gained as a random drop from Utzaal enemies on the altar in this area to gain this permanent buff.

Gaining all the bonuses in the main story Acts will give you new ways to flush out your build and prepare you to do the same tasks again on Cruel difficulty for even more buffs. To gain every permanent stat bonus possible inPath of Exile 2, you have to pursue some goals again, but they will be in the same locations as you remember from the first campaign you complete.
