Jane Is Paradise’s Most Dangerous Character
Paradise’s fourth episode reveals that the seemingly soft-spoken and sweet naturedAgent Jane Driscoll is a ruthless killer working for Samantha Redmond, quietly making her the show’s most dangerous character. The first four episodes ofParadiseset up Billy Pace as the most threatening of President Cal Bradford’s secret service. However, “Agent Billy Pace” steadily reveals that while Pace did kill the scientists who were trying to inform the survivors about the surface, he only did so under duress and at the direct command of Redmond. After Pace confronts her over this, Redmond has Jane kill Billy via poisoning.
Paradise Episode 4 Teases How The World Really Ended (& If Anyone Could Have Survived)
The mysterious end of the world in Paradise gets some tantalizing new clues in episode 4, as well as a hint about the state of the world afterwards.
Framing it like a suicide, Jane is able to dispatch a physical powerhouse. As opposed to Billy’s threatening nature,Jane is able to put on a perfectly innocent persona until it’s far too late to stop her. The way she coldly tells a dying Billy that she works for Redmond indicates a far more ruthless killer than Billy, who struggled with the memories of his worst actions. Jane will likely be able to maintain her cover as the now grieving girlfriend, which could place her in closer proximity to Xavier and his own investigation into Redmond overCal’s mysterious murder.
Redmond Has Killers Hidden AcrossParadise

Jane’s proximity to Xavier makes her an ideal agent and spy for Redmond, and explains a lot about how dangerous she is as the clear central antagonist ofParadise. “Agent Billy Pace” confirms that she was alright having innocent people killed if it meant maintaining power through the illusion of control in the dome and chaos on the surface. Redmond threatens Pace with the idea that she has several killers on call, ready to follow her commands. Coupled with the revelations about the surface that she’s kept quiet,this all sets up Redmond as the big bad ofParadise.
This sets up Jane to be a huge threat going into the second half ofParadise.
Even though Jane works for Redmond, this only reinforces how dangerous the former is. Jane has the clear trust of Xavier, making her an ideal person to slip into his inner circle. This could give Redmond access to whatever Xavier is planning, or allow her to easily put a target onto Xavier’s loved ones. Jane being willing to kill her boyfriend with no clear restraint or regret highlights how far she’ll go to take someone out and how little it will affect her. This sets up Jane to be a huge threat going into the second half ofParadise.
