What Harry’s Return Means For Dexter: Resurrection

Harry’s Return May Be Brought About By A Drastic Situation

Currently, Harry Morgan’s past is being explored in a way unlike anything the serial killer franchise has offered beforewithDexter: Original Sin. With Christian Slater taking on the role of a younger Harry, this is the first time the character has been given any significant development outside of flashbacks and Dexter’s own perspective, as he often pictured his father while going through various situations. As such, the character is receiving far more focus than before.

Harry’s last appearance chronologically was inDexterseason 8, where the titular character realized he no longer needed Harry to influence his killing urges, as that desire had diminished. Because of this, Harry was absent from thelimited sequel seriesDexter: New Blood. However, with Dexter clinging to life and the ongoing prequelOriginal Sinbeing framed within a critically wounded Dexter’s mind, perhaps something will happen when he’s recovering that triggers Dexterto let his father back in.

Our Take On Harry Morgan’s Dexter: Resurrection Return

Harry May Be The Key To Dexter Surviving His Darkest Hour

With his flawed ideals and complicated legacy, Harry stands out as one of theDexteruniverse’s most complicated figures. He was both a heroic lawman and a flawed father, who tried to ensure that his son lived a life that could be considered good despite his darker side. While he was long dead before the series began,Harry still feels like a fully fleshed-out character.

As such, with Harry having been manifested by Dexter’s mind during his time as a killer, his return could hint at the titular killer being forced back into that life, leading him to return to the old codes his father set for him. WithDexter: Resurrectionalready following up on the killer being in custody, Harry’s return could see him trying to comfort Dexter as he evades the authorities without returning to his harsher ways.
