One Piece’s Fishman Island Saga Remake Gets Its First Preview
The New Remake Will Take Off From Episode #517
Besides marking the end of the time skip, the Fishman Island Arc marks the Straw Hats' entry into the New World. Yet the arc is not well-favored among fans due to its poor pacing and inconsistent animation. Luckily,One Piece’s anime as well as Toei have come a long waysince then and this growth is all but evident in the new teaser, which mostly follows the sameart style and shading of the Wano Arc.
The newpreview includes many familiar scenes, such as Brook’s final concert at Sabaody, Nami reuniting with Usopp at Shakky’s, a bandaged Duval resting after protecting the Thousand Sunny for two years, and even glimpses of each of the Fake Straw Hats. Fans can even glimpse Sentomaru with the Pacifista and Luffy bidding goodbye to Boa Hancock.

The New Remaster Could Fix One of One Piece’s Most Divisive Arcs
Though brief, the new teaser gives fans a good idea of what to expect from the first episode of the remaster. The teaser notably contains scenes from episode #518 as well which means the upcoming episode could cover a bit more of the manga than episode #517 originally did. If so, the new remaster could truly end up fixing Fishman Island’s infamous pacing issues.
New One Piece Episode Earns Glowing Praise From Acclaimed One-Punch Man Artist
One Piece’s Fan Letter episode has earned the praise of One-Punch Man’s incredible artist, proving the series is worthy of world-class talent.
Overall, though there-edition was intended mostly for aesthetic purposes, the new remastered episodes could end up fixing the Fishman Island Arc as a whole. Granted, the entire point of the arc was to show off the Straw Hats' growth, which is why even the remaster may not be able to solve the main issue with the arc, which is Hody Jones' failure to be a convincing antagonist. Regardless, it will certainly be refreshing to experience the Fishman Island Saga once more, especially with the exceptional animation that Toei has showcased inOne Piece’s latest episodes.

One Piece
Created by Eiichiro Oda, One Piece is a multimedia franchise that began as a manga series and follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates as led by Monkey D. Luffy. Luffy, an enthusiastic pirate with a thirst for adventure, is afflicted by a mysterious curse that gives him various powers he uses to protect himself and his friends. The manga eventually gave way to the anime series, with the two being some of history’s longest-running anime and manga series. Along with over fifty video games made over the years, the series entered the live-action world with Netflix’s 2023 adaptation.
