Bandai Namco has dropped us ahot fresh trailertoday showing off the amazing coat and metal shinguards of Lars Alexandersson. Lars made his debut inTekken 6, and has been touting his self-righteous sense of justice ever since.
The illegitimate son of series veteran Heihachi Mishima, I’m not seeing the resemblance. He’s the leader of a rebel splinter group of the Tekken Force, Yggdrasil, and has been one of the main protagonists for bothTekken 6andTekken 7. Given his headlining status, he was pretty much a total shoo-in for the newest iteration.
The trailer shows Lars throwing down against big cyborg, Jack-8, as well as his half-brother and fellow coat-haver Kazuma Mishima. To highlight his skill of fighting in a long coat, he’s shown effortlessly dispatching the competition using all manner of glowing kicks. His choice of fancy white clothing shows his confidence, not only in his fighting ability but also in his eating ability. True bravery.
Lars Alexandersson joins Bandai Namco’s growing collection of character trailers that have previously coveredJin Kazama,Marshall Law,Nina Williams,King,Paul Phoenix, andKazuya Mishima. That leaves Jun Kazama and Jack-8 still needing their spotlights.
Tekken 8is currently in development for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X. It is tentatively expected to launch in early 2024.
