It Highlights What Could Have Been If Kit Harington Returned As Jon Snow
The shelving ofGame of Thrones’Jon Snow spinoff is disappointing no matter how you spin it, butHarington’s return to HBO really highlights what could have been. Both the network and the actor are known for producing high-quality work, and it would be nice to see them collaborate on a project set in theGame of Thronesuniverse again. Seeing Harington step into a much different role also reveals how much more he could do with Jon; the character would undoubtedly be changed forever by the events of season 8, opening up all sorts of possibilities.
They only make us want hisGame of Thronesreturn more though, showcasing Harington’s talent and reminding us why we loved his turn as Jon Snow.
Sadly, it looks like we won’t get to see Harington dig into his character’s trauma any time soon, as the Jon Snow sequel is not currently in the cards. Although HBO chairman and CEO Casey Bloys raised the possibility that they could “try again” (viaDeadline), it’s hard to feelhopeful about theGame of Thronesspinoff. Fortunately, we have Harington’s other projects, likeIndustry, to look forward to.
