TheWednesdayseries made a major announcement recently with the news ofWednesdayseason 2’scasting of Lady Gagacreating many possibilities regarding future storylines. TheWednesdaycasthas been expanded in preparation for its sophomore season, which is currently filming and expected to be released in 2025.Wednesdayseason 2will carry over story elements from its predecessor, as when we last saw Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) leaving Nevernmore Academy for the summer, she received threatening text messages indicating that the current story isn’t over.

Wednesdayseason 1’s endingsets up another unknown foe for Wednesday to contend with during the second season. Tyler (Hunter Doohan) is in custody but can still turn into a Hyde, which will likely be a problem during season 2. The fate of his master, Mrs. Thornhill (Christina Ricci), is unknown after Wednesday stomped her unconscious.Concerning Gaga, it would make sense if she played the new principal of Nevermore if Steve Buscemi’s character had not been confirmedas Principal Weems’s (Gwendoline Christie) successor. This leaves one plausible possibility.

As reported byVariety, whenOrtega was asked about Gaga joining the cast back during the 2023 Golden Globes, she said that she felt Wednesday still needs a character that understands her: “If Lady Gaga were to be a part of it, they would have to be two monsters who understand each other.”

Wednesday Season 2 Now Officially Has The Chance To Top Season 1

Ortega hints at the possibility of Gaga taking on the role of a teacher who can understand her darkness. Furthermore, Netflix’s iteration ofWednesday Addams still has plenty of room for character development and personal growth. If Wednesday were to have an adult in her life who could truly understand and relate to her at Nevermore, it would tremendously assist her character arc.

Wednesday Needs A New Mentor In Season 2

A New Teacher To Look After Her Is Needed

Mrs. Thornhill was the teacher at Nevermore Academy who acted as a mentor for Wednesday before her ulterior motives and true identity were revealed — and her actions created a void that Gaga could fill. While her role is currently unknown,if Gaga were to become an outcast teacher and a mentor-type figure, it would be a perfect match with the series' deadpan star. While it would be entertaining to see Gaga as a new teacher at the magical Nevermore in her own right, she can also emerge as an authentic mentor for Wednesday.

With all the adults who have died, betrayed her, or simply don’t like her, Wednesday is currently without an important figurehead in her life outside of her family. To keep furthering her character development, Wednesday needs a new mentor, similar to Thornhill before her betrayal.Having Gaga in that type of role for season 2 would fulfill Ortega’s wish and create a stable foundation for Wednesday to lean on at Nevermoregoing forward.

Wednesday Season 2 Now Officially Has The Chance To Top Season 1’s Viral Jenna Ortega Scene

Lady Gaga has officially joined the Wednesday series. Now the show’s second season will have a chance to top season 1’s famous dance scene.

Having Lady Gaga as a mentor inWednesdaymakes sense within the story and behind the scenes. Ortega’s words ring true about Gaga as a person who frequently advocates for those “born different.” If Gaga were to become a character for Wednesday to relate to because of her uniqueness, it would fit the musician/actress' personality and work well within the overall story. Having two monsters that understand each other is now a must forWednesdayseason 2.
