Summary
Andorstar Adria Arjona promises that season 2 of the hitStar Warsprequel show will raise the bar even higher. Serving as the highest-rated live-actionStar Warsshow on Rotten Tomatoes, season 1 was widely praised for its gritty and more mature take on the Lucasfilm franchise’s mythos. With the new season expected to lead directly into the events ofRogue One: A Star Warsstory, theAndorseason 2 castis set to expand with the addition of several key faces from the movie that first introduced Diego Luna’s titular Rebel spy.
During a recent interview withThe Hollywood Reporter, Arjona spoke about her return as Cassian Andor’s friend and ally, Bix Caleen inAndorseason 2. Revealing that while she did not think that showrunner Tony Gilroy could outdo his season 1 efforts, after reading the season 2 scripts she was amazed at how much better it is.Describing season 2 as “mind-blowing”, Arjona also said she cannot believe that she gets to be a part of such an exciting project. Check out her comments below:

Oh man, when I read season one, I pinched myself, and when I started reading season two, I was like, ‘[Tony Gilroy] can’t outdo [season one].’ I was again like, ‘It’s not going to be as good.’ But it’s f–king better. It’ssomuch better. It is. What he has crafted and created is mind-blowing, and I can’t believe I got to be a part of it. He’s so talented, and he really outdid himself for season two.
Lucasfilm Seems VERY Excited About Andor Season 2
Audiences Have Been Very Divided About Some Of Star Wars' Other Live-Action Shows.
Before Disney’s 2012 acquisition of Lucasfilm, the possibility of a canonical, live-action television series set within theStar Warsuniverse seemed largely out of reach. Despite George Lucas’ attempts to craft his own show,Star Wars: Underworld, the inherent production costs and technological limitations of the time would make those plans unviable. However, since 2019’sThe Mandalorianseason 1, theStar Warsfandom has receiveda swathe of newlive-actionStar Warsshows, albeit each with varying degrees of success and critical acclaim. Despite the franchise’s most recent show,The Acolyte, largely performing well with critics, its reception within the broaderStar Warsfanbase was divisive to say the least. However, withAndorseason 1 still considered by many to be Disney+’s bestStar Warsoffering to-date, it seems thatLucasfilm is already planning to leverage the show’s popularity to its advantage. Nowhere is this more evident in their recent decision to begin marketing season 2 via an online promo video with Luna off the back of this year’s D23.
Typically, Lucasfilm has been reluctant to release any direct marketing for future projects ahead of their next anticipatedStar Warsrelease, which in this case is the forthcomingDecember debut ofStar Wars: Skeleton Crew. However, givenAndor’soverwhelming popularity, coupled with its vastly different tone and storytelling approach, it is easy to see why the studio would be interested in helping build anticipation early. At this stage,Andorseason 2 does not even have its own concrete release date, yet it is evident that Lucasfilm has every confidence in its ability to unite the notoriously dividedStar Warsfanbase.
