Boruto Has Been In Production For More Than A Year Now
So Fans May Get The Series' Second Part Sooner Rather Than Later
In April 2023, the official website ofBorutoconfirmed that the anime would be going on a break. However, the second part ofBorutowas immediately announced, and it was revealed that it was in production. It has been more than a year and a half since then, and there has been zero news or updates about the progress of the anime. This could change asStudio Pierrot confirmed they will release information on their future works and anniversary projectsin this year’s AnimeJapan, which is scheduled for March 22.
The illustration that Kouda was working on has been revealed to be a frame from the fight between Borushiki and Kawaki.

Masayuki Kouda has been the director of the anime ever since episode 67 after taking over the position from anotherNarutoveteran, Hiroyuki Yamashita. Not only has he been there for the franchise since day one, but he is also one of the series' biggest fans. He has been posting aboutTwo Blue Vortexchapters and praising them on his X (formerly Twitter) account. He also recently drew an illustration of Mitsuki for the new year to usher in the year of the snake. While it is unknown if he will return as the director of part one, fans should expect him to return in some form of capacity, given how passionate he is towardsBoruto.

Boruto Confirms a Surprising Ninja is Key to Winning the Final Battle, and They Aren’t Who Anyone Would Expect
Against all odds, Sumire has become one of Boruto’s most important characters, as she could help defeat Kawaki during the final battle.
Despite the immense amount of talent and veterans in the production, the only reasonBoruto’s anime didn’t look as great as it could have is because of the weekly format, but withStudio Pierrot looking to switch to seasonal production forBoruto, fans can expect the staff to go all out with a schedule that allows for the best results possible.
