The first trailer forStar Wars: Tales of the Underworldlooks great. However, I’m hopeful and confident that the miniseries is hiding some bigStar Warscharacter returns. Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane are the stars of this new series with what looks to be all-new tales in theStar Warscanon, though they both have hidden stories which fans have been dying to see for years.

Following 2022’sTales of the Jediand 2024’sTales of the Empire,Tales of the Underworldwill follow a similar format with two core characters. The miniseries will consist of three episodes starring the former Sith assassin Asajj Ventress during the Dark Times, and another three episodes exploring the origins of the infamous bounty hunter Cad Bane. However, I have a feeling that there’s more that has yet to be revealed forTales of the Underworld, stories that will hopefully include two bigStar Warscharacter returns.

Ventress' & Bane’s Stories Each Have To Include 2 Crucial Characters

Boba Fett and Quinlan Vos

Any newStar Warsstories featuring Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane are most welcome. Both characters were breakout stars in the originalClone Warsanimated series, and they each have strong fan followings. Even in the last few years,Cad Bane made his live-action debut in 2021’sThe Book of Boba Fettand Ventress was referenced in live-action for the first time in 2023’sAhsoka.However, both Ventress and Bane have largely untold stories I and manyStar Warsfans have been wanting for years.

In Cad Bane’s case, the infamous bounty hunter was meant to have a finalClone Warsarc that was left unfinished outside of a few storyboard sequences. Nevertheless, the story was referenced during his role inThe Book of Boba Fett. Likewise, Ventress had her own unfinished arc ofClone Warsepisodes, which became the novelDark Disciple, the events of which were loosely referenced during Ventress' appearance inThe Bad Batchseason 3.As such, it would be incredible to see Boba Fett and/or Quinlan Vos inTales of the Underworld, who had critical roles in the aforementioned stories.

Connected To The Most Hoped-For Ventress and Bane Stories

InDark Disciple, Ventress fell in love with Jedi Master Quinlan Vos during hisClone Warsmission to assassinate Count Dooku, a journey that saw him briefly compromised by the dark side until Ventress helped bring him back to the light. Asajj also gave her life fighting Dooku to save Vos, and her body was placed by Quinlan and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the waters of Dathomir, the homeworld of her fellow Nightsisters. As was teased in the book and later confirmed inThe Bad Batchseason 3,Ventress was resurrected via some form of Nightsister magick, resuming her life as a bounty hunter.

New Star Wars Movies: Every Upcoming Movie & Release Date

Here’s every upcoming Star Wars movie in development - including Rey’s New Jedi Order, the Dawn of the Jedi, and The Mandalorian & Grogu!

BecauseTales of the Underworld’strailer sees Ventress protecting a Padawan from an Inquisitor, my biggest hope is that this will lead to a reunion with Quinlan. FollowingRevenge of the Sithand Order 66,Quinlan Vos canonically survived and was confirmed byObi-Wan Kenobito be working with The Hidden Path, the secret network helping Force-sensitives evade the Empire.I also really want one of Cad Bane’s episodes to finally reveal hisClone Warspast with young Boba Fett in full, including their duel that explains the iconic dent on Fett’s helmet and the metal plate on Bane’s head.

What Other Big Surprises Could Star Wars Be Hiding?

Hopefully, There Will Be Lots of Surprises

With any luck, the trailer forTales of the Underworldis only focused on a single episode for each character. Perhaps the series will have more stories beyond Bane’s early past and Ventress protecting this Padawan. It’d certainly be nice to see how and why Asajj was resurrected afterDark Disciple, and the poster does feature C-21 Highsinger and Latts Razzi, bounty hunters who were allied with young Boba during the Clone Wars.

“Hopefully, there will be plenty of surprises, twists, and character returns to call back and perhaps even show the Can Bane and Asajj Ventress storiesStar Warsfans are most desperate to explore…”

It’s worth noting that both of the previousTales Of…miniseries had significant time jumps between episodes, which could be very cool to see withTales of the Underworldas well.Hopefully, there will be plenty of surprises, twists, and character returns to call back and perhaps even show the Can Bane and Asajj Ventress storiesStar Warsfans are most desperate to explore. I know I am.
