Crossing a bridge, the Destined One comes upon a Yoaguai Chief carrying a sword, known as Tiger’s Acolyte.This boss serves as one of the last lines of defense for the Mad Tiger. While there are few attack patterns to learn, Tiger’s Acolyte is fast and lethal,making Immobilize an effective spellto stop the chief from unleashing ground thrusts and claw slashes. Once defeated,the boss drops key rewards.

Near The Windrest Hamlet, The Yoaguai Chief Guards A Bridge
Tiger’s Acolyte is near the Windrest Hamlet Shrine. Before heading into battle,spend Sparks to upgrade The Destined One’s stats. Craft items, like Evil Repelling Medicament. At this point in the game, it’s possible that you’ve crafted new staffs, apart from the base Willow Wood Staff. While a more powerful staff is certainly helpful in dealing damage, the focus of this battle should be on casting three spells:Immobolize, A Pluck Of Many, and Red Tides.A Pluck Of Many can be locatedafter defeating the Vanguard bosses. It is costly to use, so consider boosting Mana before facing Tiger’s Acolyte.
From the Windrest Hamlet Shrine, run over a short stone bridgeguarded by a shield-wielding Spearbone. Fight or sprint past this enemy. Continue to an archway marking another, longer stone bridge. In the center of the bridge, you’ll see Tiger’s Acolyte waiting to engage. While optional, the rewards for defeating Tiger’s Acolyte make the attempt appealing. The Yoaguai Chief drops their Spirit, Blood of the Iron Bull, and anOld Rattle Drum used to access a secret location and boss.Additionally, the final boss of this area, Yellow Wind Sage, can easily be found in Yellow Wind Formation.

Don’t Let Up Pressure Against The Chief’s Fast Attack Combos
Tiger’s Acolyte is deceptive, solearning its attack patterns can be difficult. Opting for a passive approach? Dodge until the boss opens to counterattack. In addition to sword melee combos, expect Tiger’s Acolyte to launch into the air for heavy thrusts,and watch for the claws that charge in for rapid slashes. Countering can be even trickier when the chief raises the sword to smash down. You might think twice about attacking directly after the sword hits the ground, since its impact creates a shockwave radius. If the monkey doesn’t apply pressure to this boss, Tiger’s Acolyte will safely deploy every attack at its disposal.
There are several things you’re able to do to slow down Tiger’s Acolyte and disrupt deadlier attacks. Before entering the bridge, apply Evil Repelling Medicament,or equip the Wind Tamer Vessel to reduce damage taken from Tiger’s Acolyte. In combat, follow this spell formula for success: Immobilize, then A Plucky Of Many, and finally Red Tides. If you’re struggling to dodge incoming attacks and taking too much damage,separate and disengage to heal if possible. When deciding between healing and casting a spell, opt for the latter option. Cast A Pluck Of Many to distract the Yoaguai. Once the monkey horde swarms Tiger’s Acolyte,use Red Tides to transform into the wolf guai. The pressure should overwhelm the boss and build your focus. Continue striking until the chief is defeated or enter Pillar Stance to deal a final blow.
Pillar Stance utilizes powerful ranged attacks. The more focus is charged, the higher you sit atop the staff, and the longer striking distance is created. Also, enemy ground attacks can briefly be negated.TheLoongwreathe Staff increases Pillar Stance attack power.
