Warning! This article contains spoilers for Skeleton Crew episodes 1 and 2.
A big character inStar Wars: Skeleton Crewis Jude Law’s mysterious Jedi, but clues throughout episodes 1 and 2 hint he may not be what he says he is. UponSkeleton Crew’s announcement, Law’s involvement was one of the bigger selling points of theupcomingStar WarsTV show. Now, the first two episodes of the show are here, teasing an interesting arc for one ofSkeleton Crew’s many charactersthat may contain a case of fake identity.

Skeleton Crew’s early marketing showed Law as one ofStar Wars' potential Order 66 survivors;it has been common knowledge since the show began production that Law would be playing a Force-sensitive character. The trailer forSkeleton Crewconfirmed this outright, showing Law’s hooded helper using the Force to levitate a key and launch a prison break. However, as ofSkeleton Crewepisode 2’s ending, it could be the case that Jude Law’s character is no Jedi at all.
Skeleton Crew’s Opening Scene Confirms The Pirates Have One Prisoner… Their Captain
Jude Law’s Jedi May Be The Pirate Captain Silvo
The biggest hint that Law is not playing a Jedi after all comes inSkeleton Crew’s opening scene. The sequence is fantastic for several reasons, from the visceral portrayal of a new kind ofStar Warsaction scene as pirates raid a Republic cruiser to the way it introduces the main antagonists of the show. The pirates return later inSkeleton Crewepisode 2, though notably without their captain, a masked man named Silvo. In the opening scene, it is revealed that Captain Silvo’s tip about bundles of Republic credits was false, resulting in a mutiny against him.
Law’s character remains unnamed in Skeleton Crew episode 2, further hinting that his true name is Silvo.

When the pirates reappear inSkeleton Crewepisode 2, Silvo is nowhere to be seen. Coincidentally, one prisoner is being kept captive by the pirates alongside Wim, Neel, Fern, and KB in the episode’s final scene: Jude Law’s “Jedi.“Law’s voice matches that of Silvo’s inSkeleton Crew, all but confirming that the two are one and the same. Silvo was likely imprisoned after the mutiny was held against him, being kept in the brig ofSkeleton Crew’s Port Borgountil episode 2’s ending.
Does Jude Law’s Character Really Have The Force?
Could His Facade Be A Cruel Trick?
With it being incredibly likely that Law’s character is really Captain Silvo, the next logical question is whether he can actually use the Force.Skeleton Crewepisode 2 ends with him doing, seemingly, exactly that, by levitating a key toward his cell so that he and his new inmates can go free. Therefore, it could be the case that Silvo is not a former Jedi but instead, simply someone who is Force-sensitive. Another possibility, although slightly more unlikely, is that the Force Law’s character used was a trick.
It could be the case that Law’s character somehow manipulates things around him as if using the Force to trick others into thinking he is reliable…

After all, it is implied that the character has been locked away for a while, yet he only used the Force once Wim, Neel, Fern, and KB were imprisoned alongside him. Similarly, he only reveals himself to the children upon mention ofSkeleton Crew’s At Attin, a fabled planet of lost treasure. It could be the case that Law’s character somehow manipulates things around him as if using the Force to trick others into thinking he is reliable like the Jedi once were. This would make a pirate’s work much easier, especially when manipulating kids into leading him to a planet overflowing with riches.
Is “Captain Silvo” His Real Name?
The Pirate May Be A Man Of Many Names
If Jude Law’s character is revealed as Captain Silvo inSkeleton Crew, his deceitful nature raises another question: Is that his real name? If Silvo truly does have the Force, it could be revealed that he was, in fact, a Jedi of the prequel era. Naturally, this would mean he has a name other than Silvo. Moreover, if he is simply a Force-sensitive pirate, it would not be illogical for him to be using a fake name that best fits his dangerous, illicit career path that separates “Captain Silvo” from whoever Law’s character was beforehand.
Sith, Jedi, Palpatine Clone? The 6 Most Exciting Theories About Jude Law’s Star Wars Character
Jude Law’s mysterious new character is clearly hiding a secret - but is he a secret Sith, a Palpatine clone, an Order 66 survivor, or something more?
Overall, there are many possibilities for Captain Silvo to be revealed as someone else.Star Warsis a franchise with a vast selection of characters, be it in canon or Legends. With that in mind, Silvo could secretly be a character that has appeared in otherStar Warsmovies or TV showsof the past. If not that, then Silvo could be a character from the various comics, books, or video games ofStar Warscanon and Legends. Regardless, it would not be surprising ifStar Wars: Skeleton Crew’s Captain Silvo is someone else entirely, Jedi or no Jedi.
