The story starts with a series of heinous crimes shaking a small community, which Detective Lois Tryon (Nash-Betts) feels a personal connection to. With no solid leads, Lois turns to Sister Megan (Diamond), a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian. While she believes in the good of humanity, Lois fears the world is being consumed by evil and, as they investigate,they find themselves in a dark, perplexing mystery.

This includes her strained relationship with her daughter, her husband being placed in long-term care, and her own personal struggles.
