TheGodzilla x Kongsequel has added another new star to its impressive cast with aFear the Walking Deadalum. Following the success of Adam Wingard’s movie-monster mashupGodzilla vs. Kongin 2021, the two titular Titans returned for a team-up film last year in the form ofGodzilla x Kong: The New Empire. It’s now been confirmed that another installment in Legendary’sMonsterVerseis on the way from director Grant Sputore, with theGodzilla x Kongsequel’s castalready reported to include Dan Stevens, Matthew Modine, and Kaitlyn Dever, among others.
Deadlinenow reports thatAlycia Debnam-Carey has also joined theGodzilla x Kongsequel. No details have been revealed about her new character just yet, however, and it’s unclear how she will fit into the story. Though no official logline for the film has been revealed,Deadlinewrites that the movie “features several new human characters alongside Titans Godzilla and Kong, as they face off against a cataclysmic world-ending threat.”

With only one returning cast member back from the previous film (so far),the movie could be wiping the slate clean in many ways with its human characters, starting fresh with a new group who could return to play larger roles in subsequent movies.
The New Empirehas a lackluster 54% score onRotten Tomatoesfrom critics but a strong 89% from audiences. The film was also a box office success, grossing $571 million.
Even though the Titans themselves are usually the stars of the show in the MonsterVerse movies,Debnam-Carey’s star power has steadily been rising in recent years, and she could make for a great addition to the film.
