Quality-Of-Life Improvements Will Have You Playing DDV Again
A Better Experience Across The Board
One of the most raved about improvements to come toDisney Dreamlight Valleythanks to the Jungle Update is the introduction of the Glider feature. The Glider feature allows for wings to be equipped in the game, which can now allow a character to fly slightly above the ground while sprinting. The developers have also implemented an animation for the wings which allows them to flutter in a manner that is more realistic for wings. This feature has greatly excited many players and the mechanics of the Glider effect allow for a more enhanced form of navigation in the game.
In addition to Scrooge McDuck’s store being updated with a new bunch of items, there is now a new system that has come with the update where,as a clothing mannequin in the store is emptied, they are replaced with new furniture items. This feature is particularly satisfying for many players who didn’t enjoy the view of the empty window displays in the store for aesthetic purposes. The Premium Shop also now has a new rotating system that updates with items tailored to the interests of the player, allowing its contents to differ from person to person.
The Jungle Update has come with some brand-new gameplay updates which make day-to-day life in-game much easier.A new widget feature has been implemented with the update that allows players to easily organize and keep track of their Valley tasksby adding their Dreamlight duties and crafting recipes to a new on-screen Quest tracker, allowing for easier task navigation. Players are also delighted with a new update that allows the ability to hold hand accessories and tools while in Photo Mode for DreamSnaps challenges. Furthermore, for DreamSnaps, a new skip button has been added to the DreamSnaps voting screen, where players can skip up to 10 votes per day.
Some new controls have been implemented inDDV, including a toggle option in the Controls menu where players can select between two different control methods while in Edit Mode outdoors – an option that is the original control style or the other, which locks the cursor to the center of the screen while with the ability to move it freely. Another toggle option introduced allows players to select between two different sprinting control methods, which allows selecting between updated button mapping of the button mapping integrated with the previous update. There is also now full support for wireless controllers on Steam.
A long list of bugs has been fixed, much to many players' delight. These fixes include important quest fixes for the “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Oops” quest where Olaf’s parasol would not appear on the beach, as well as a bug that prevented players from accessing the game in “The Secrets Of Eternity Isle” quest. Some gameplay mechanics have been fixed, including the issue where players could run into invisible walls, resolvingDisney Dreamlight Valleymealsbeing incorrectly marked in some of Remy’s quests, and UI issues such as lighting issues in the likes of Tiana’s Palace.
Disney Dreamlight Valley Still Needs Fixes
DDV Still Isn’t As Great As It Could Be
While the features that have come with the Jungle Update are exciting,Disney Dreamlight Valleystill needs some changes to allow for a better gameplay experience. One of the biggest concerns that players have is the game’s focus on Moonstones and how difficult they are to get in-game without a subscription, especially considering how the new update has features strongly based around the Premium Shop. Many players would like more ways of earning Moonstones in-game, as paying more money after already purchasing the game in the first place is not ideal.
It is possible to earn Moonstones in-game by finding the Daily Moonstone Chest, trading in extra event tokens, or participating in DreamSnaps.
Another concern that players are expressing about the updatedPremium Shop is its new rotation system. Many players are worried that, because the new system now only displays items based on a player’s personal interests within the Premium Shop, thatthey might miss other items they would like to have the option of purchasing. Meanwhile, in Scrooge McDuck’s Store, players are expressing the desire for the empty clothing mannequins to be replaced by not just furniture, but new clothes as well. Additionally, players would like more hairstyles to show up in the store as these are rare enough to come by.
Unfortunately for players who are avid fans of Halloween, there has been a consensus of disappointment over the theme of the brand-new Star Path. At any other time of year, “The Night Show” Star Path would likely be a very welcome update inDisney Dreamlight Valley. However, many players of the game are voicing that they would have preferred to see more Halloween and Autumnal themes, rewards and in-game items to have been introduced with the Jungle Update. Although “The Night Show” Star Path offers items that are inspired by alternative fashion, some more Halloween-specific reward items seem to be what players would have preferred.
The Jungle Update forDisney Dreamlight Valleyis ultimately full of very positive changes that have significantly enhanced the game’s player experience. Players are enthralled by the new Glider effect which allows flight while sprinting, many are delighted by the introduction of Timon and Pumbaa to the Valley, and the detailed cosmetic updates for the new Star Path as well as the Loungefly collaboration have added a new element of fun to the game this October. The bug fixes that have been implemented with the update have significantly improved running the game and players are finally able to have a smoother quest completion experience as a result.
Despite all the positive changes that have come with the Jungle Update, it’s clear that there are many anticipated changes that theDisney Dreamlight Valleyplayer community are still waiting for. The issue of the game’s reliance on players consuming Moonstones for purchases in-game is at the forefront of the current issues that are being discussed, and it’s something players hope the developers take into consideration. Nonetheless, the Jungle Update for the moment has provided a generous amount of entertaining content and its gameplay fixes are certainly an improvement on the previousDisney Dreamlight Valleyexperience.
