These three different types of creatures grant players enhanced mobility across Natlan when they are indwelled. The Tepetlisaurus, for instance, can burrow underground and, in doing so, climb vertical cliffs, while the Koholasaurus allows players to move across water surfaces at enhanced speed. More Saurians in Natlan have already been teased, such as the Qucusaurus – which can be seen in the massiveGoldflame Qucusaur Tyrant boss inGenshin Impact. Now, there are rumors that the Saurian group will grow with the addition of two new types in Version 5.2.

Information obtained by an unknown leaker was shared in a post flagged as “Reliable” onReddit,highlighting two new Saurian types in Version 5.2. The first is the aforementioned Qucusaur, while the second is allegedly called Iktomisaurus. The Qucusaur is a red-colored avian-like creature capable of gliding and flying while in Natlan. Iktomisaur Saurians, on the other hand, are bat-like creatures that can leap up high and temporarily glide. While flight seems like the major improvement to mobility inGenshin Impact5.2’s leaked Saurians, they may actually help with other types of mechanics.

New Mechanics May Be Added With The Rumored Natlan Areas
The Qucusaur seems like a Saurian type focused specifically on mobility. According to the leak, Qucusauri can glide and then consume Phlogiston to ascend mid-flight or perform a horizontal roll in the air. The leak also says thatQucusaur Saurians can also fly at higher speeds when players push the sprint button. It seems like Qucusaur will be about flying quickly from point A to point B, so there is a chance there will be challenges involving the creatures’ traversal mechanics inGenshin Impact.
Despite being able to fly in some ways, the Iktomisaur seems less focused on flight mechanics themselves. As seen in the leak, Iktomisauri can hold a button to aim (possibly like the Yumkasauri) and enter the Spiritspeaker state. The leak mentions that, in this state,Iktomisaur can absorb Phlogiston from objects within their field of vision. Additionally, Iktomisaur Saurians can allegedly make special graffiti and Phlogiston Engravings appear for a limited time.
This seems to hint that Iktomisauri’s main purpose will be locating secrets with its special vision abilities.
