Warning: Contains SPOILERS forFoundseason 2, episode 11, “Missing While Misunderstood.”

Season 2 ofFoundhas been throwing out one twist after another in Gabi’s cat-and-mouse game with Sir, but episode 11 may have set the stage for Sir’s most devious scheme yet. “Missing While Misunderstood” ends with three shocking moments in a row, at least two of which are more twisty than a May wind in Texas. But it’s ironically the twist that initially seems completely unrelated to Sir that may actually play most into his hands.

Kelli Williams as Margaret Reed and Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Hugh Evans aka Sir in Found

Since before the series even began,Margaret’s 13-year search for her missing son Jamie has caused her nothing but trouble. She lost custody of her daughters, got arrested for assaulting a man who took down her flyers at the bus stop, and nearly walked into the ocean with no intention of returning to land. WithFound’s season 3 renewalstill unconfirmed, it would be prudent for this season to conclusively resolve both Sir’s and Margaret’s storylines. The final twist of “Missing While Misunderstood” may be preparing the series to resolve both at once.

Found Season 2 Episode 11 Ends With Jamie Finding Margaret At The Bus Stop

Margaret Searched For 13 Years But Jamie Was The One Who Found Her

Because of her restraining order, Margaret is no longer allowed to spend her nights waiting for Jamie in the bus station. She now stands outside every night gazing through the window, something restraining orders apparently don’t have rules against. But at the end of “Missing While Misunderstood,”Margaret’s interrupted when a young man taps her on the shoulder and addresses her as his mother. Over a decade afterJamie’s disappearance inFound, it appears he’s finally resurfaced. It’s a huge reveal, albeit less so for those who noticed that NBC posted a video about Margaret’s journey the day of the episode’s premiere.

Although the promise of a reunion between Jamie and Margaret should be a momentous story beat for the series,it feels anticlimactic to have Jamie simply show up rather than Margaret finally tracking him down. Fortunately, there’s more to the story.Foundshowrunner Nkechi Okoro Carrollhas previously stated that Jamie’s case will be a central focus of the remaining 11 episodes in the season. Jamie showing up may feel like a massive reveal, but there are certain to be more twists to the story of why he disappeared and why he’s suddenly returned.

How Margaret’s Ending Might Be Setting Up A Bigger Plot Twist In Found Season 2

Jamie Suddenly Finding Margaret Is Too Suspiciously Convenient

GivenFound’s penchant for plot twists, Jamie’s resurfacing may not be as miraculous as it first appears. According toZeke’s actor, Arlen Escarpeta,a lot of the cast wasn’t even certain when they got the script if this was the real Jamie. It’s suspicious that Jamie just happens to show up right after Sir’s arrest, leading to speculation that this could be an imposter or even that Jamie could be Sir’s secret accomplice. But the most obvious twist would be that this is the real Jamie, and that he was found by Sir prior to his arrest.

Even if Sir found Jamie without Margaret asking him to, it still suggests the next step in his ultimate plan.

Gabi looking off to the side next to Sir looking serious in Found season 2

Sir has offered to find Jamie before, and he appeared to be speaking earnestly. Although his offer was turned down, that was also before Margaret hit rock bottom on the beach. After that day, she disappeared for a while to stay with her daughter Taylor. ButMargaret also lied about being with Taylor before she went to the beach in the first place. It’s not implausible that she might have lied again while working with Sir to find her son. Even if Sir found Jamie without Margaret asking him to, it still suggests the next step in his ultimate plan.

What Sir’s Ultimate Plan Could Be

Helping People Is Another Way Sir Manipulates Them

After coaxing Zeke to step outside his house in episode 6,Sir said his plan was to fix everyone at M&A so that Gabi would come to him. It’s obvious how finding Jamie would “fix” Margaret, but it’s not clear how helping Gabi’s team would change her plans to sever ties with Sir for good. Gabi’s actor, Shanola Hampton, has previously hinted at a dark ending forFound’s season 2 finale, so it’s possible that Sir is trying to turn one or more members of Gabi’s team against her. But there’s another possibility that speaks more to Sir’s general mentality.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar Addresses His Character’s Villain Status In Found: “Does Sir Need Redemption?”

EXCLUSIVE: Found star Mark-Paul Gosselaar addresses Sir’s villain status in the procedural, explaining his thoughts on if he’s seeking redemption.

Foundhas already established that Sir doesn’t realistically grasp how human connections work. Moreover,Sir’s actor, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, has said that Evans generally sees people as disposable unless they serve a means to an end. Sir also knows that M&A is largely bonded over their respective traumas, and they often treat Gabi like a beacon in their emotional recovery. In Sir’s twisted worldview, “fixing” M&A would isolate Gabi because they wouldn’t need her anymore. He’d obviously be wrong, but there’s no telling how much damage he could do before he figures that out.
