The Queen Eternal is the final encounter ofFinal Fantasy 14Dawntrail. You will face her at level 100 when you have finally unlocked all of your job abilities. For several jobs, the capstone ability is a more powerful version of an existing skill. But for a few others, it is a new mechanic that may change how your job plays. Practicing these moves before jumping into a boss fight with seven strangers is a good idea.

Since Queen Eternal is the final boss, defeating her will lead to theending sequence ofFF14 Dawntrail. Having several hours on hand to watch the concluding cutscenes may be a good idea. Otherwise, skipping them and having no idea what the characters are speaking about might be a bit confusing. Even though it is the ending onDawntrail, future patches will use it as a prologue into the next expansion storyline.

How To Fight The Queen Eternal

Being Matched with Other Warriors of Light

The Queen Eternal is fought inThe Interphos, a location that is accessed automatically as part of the main story ofFF14 Dawntrail. If you leave the area, you may also use theDuty Finderto be matched with other players. All participants must havea minimum item level of 670.

You can get free item level 690 weapons and armor by speaking to the NPCMewazuntie in Tuliyollal (X: 12.5, Y: 13). You can gain matching accessories by running the previous story dungeon,Alexandria.

Sphene transforms into the Queen Eternal in Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail

you may also purchase item level 700 gear fromZircon in Solution Nine (X: 8.6, Y: 13.5). This will give you an even better edge against the Queen Eternal. However, these cost significant amounts ofAllagan Tomestones of Aesthetics. If you just completed Alexandria, you will likely only have 80 in your possession and will need to grind the dungeon several times.

As with many Trail bosses, the standard party composition istwo Tanks, two Healers, and four DPS. This restriction does not need to be followed if you make a pre-made party. Bringing only one Tank or one Healer may be a good idea if several friends have already finished the fight. However,Blue Mage cannot be useddespite being from Tural; its level cap is currently too low at 80.

How To Survive & Beat The Queen Eternal

Queen Eternal Uses A Variety of Attacks

As with most bosses, the Queen Eternal telegraphs and names most of her moves. Your job is to know where to stand to avoid or reduce damage when possible. If you are directly fighting her, such as in aDPS role like Pictomancer inFF14, these attacks willappear on her casting bar.

YouTuberLamia Kitsunegave the fight a try. Their main goal was to simply record the music track. However, they still finished the fight, even relying on a helpful resurrection from a party member.

Healers might concentrate on protecting allies and should instead set the Queen Eternal toFocus Target, which will display her health and attacks at all times. The default key bind isShift + F on keyboards, theSquare button on PlayStation, and theX button on Xbox.

Solution

Legitimate Force

Two of the Queen Eternal’s four hands will shine and cleave the room in half.

All players should stand on the opposite side of her glowing hands, moving across the middle if she does a left-right or right-left combo.

Aethertithe

Unavoidable damage to all players.

Healers should shield and recover hitpoints, prioritizing the other Healer and DPS with low health.

Aether Accelerates

The platform will turn into a green and black grid, with one conal-shaped section distorted three times.

Quickly run out of the cone area to avoid instant death.

Coronation (1)

Moving targets will appear under players and lock in after a few seconds.

Bait the homing circles away from other allies and then move out of the way when the target locks in place.

Prosecution of War

Heavy damage to the main Tank.

The Tank should use a strong defensive cooldown, like Holy Sheltron for thereworked Paladin. Healers should also assist if the damage is too great.

Virtual Shift (1)

Changes the arena into an hourglass pattern and deals unavoidable damage to everyone.

Stand in the center of the arena to avoid falling and instantly dying.

Downburst

Knockback from a small point of impact.

Stand near the impact zone, angling yourself to be pushed towards solid ground.

Coronation (2)

A triangle forms following the average distance between two players before shooting out a laser line.

The two players should stand on opposite points of the triangle to center the blast.

Virtual Shift (2)

This changes the arena to two platforms in the center, but all characters will be floating.

Run to either platform to avoid falling later in the fight.

Castellation

Forms a wall with holes in it that slams into the party. You will fall onto the Virtual Shift platforms before Castellation repeats a second time.

While floating, stand to align with a hole in the upper half of the wall. After falling, reposition to align with the lower holes.

Absolute Authority

Targets four party members with flares, both healers are given a gaze, and every party member with stack triangles. All the while, many pulses will burst from the ground.

The flared players must move to the individual corners of the map to avoid stacking damage. All players must then stand next to at least one or more allies. Finally, the Tanks and DPS must look away from the Healers or be hit byPetrify.

Divide and Conquer

Lasers fire at all eight players sequentially and then simultaneously.

Everyone must spread position to avoid stacking damage.

After introducing each attack, the Queen Eternal will loop back to the start of the routine. The real thrill comes when she combines moves, such as sneaking Aethertithe into Coronation. After taking enough damage, the protagonist ofFinal Fantasy 14, Dawntrail, Wuk Lamat, will show up and begin the victory lap. Simply deal more damage, and the final enemy will be vanquished, allowing you to progress towardraids like the Arcadion.
