Rescuing the Ferryman in the fan-favoriteFallout 4mod,Fallout: London, is quite a tricky segment of the Charybdis quest to navigate for several reasons. First and foremost, players must find Thameshaven, which will take them on a maze-like venture through the radioactive and enemy-infested tunnels that twist and turn beneath the River Thames.

When players eventually get inside Thameshaven, saving the Ferryman is another dangerous endeavor that can lead to further loss in the underground system upon trying to find him. However, rescuing this NPC is paramount to advance the mainquest inFallout: London, and doing so will give players useful information that will serve them in the RPG.

Fallout: London - Best Things To Do First

For players new to the Fallout: 4 mod, Fallout: London, there are a few things you should do first, such as gaining weapons, allies, and settlements.

How To Start The Charybdis Quest

Find & Enter Thameshaven

To start the Charybdisquest inFallout: London, players mustspeak to Gaunt of the Vagabondsafter leaving the train crash site. Gaunt will reveal that players can seek medical aid at Thameshaven, a settlement of seemingly unfriendly mutants. Don’t let this scare you off, as you will see otherwise when you meet them.

After speaking to Gaunt, your map will update with the location of Thameshaven, pointing you north towards the River Thames. As you approach, you will be attacked by vicious radioactive rodents, but a couple of hits of any melee weapon or your bare hands can kill these.

Following the quest marker will eventually bring you to a Tommy checkpoint. The soldier posted will reveal that you canenter Thameshaven via the south entrance to the London Underground station, updating your map with another marker.

Upon entering the station, you will see that the majority of its interior has caved in on itself and been destroyed. Although your quest marker will lead you to the settlement within, it is quite a maze-like structure. Players must navigate through small, narrow corridors that are hidden away while also beingmindful of radioactive ground and waterthat can increase their Rads.

How To Rescue The Ferryman

Take Out The Surrounding Enemies

After using theTerminal inFallout: Londonto unlock the door, take out all the leeches to defend the Ferrymanwith the help of Sushi, who will help you combat these enemies. If the swarm of enemies is overwhelming, use your V.A.T.S. to slow down time and get some headshots before closing the door to prevent them from reaching you.

Repeat this process, opening the door, shooting, and closing the door until all enemies in the vicinity have been eliminated.

Once the zone is safe, speak to the Ferryman to continue to the next part of the quest. He will ask you to seal the breach by planting abomb inFallout: Londonto take care of ‘unwelcome guests.’ He will give players a bomb and explain that the breach is beside a low-bearing pillar and that the entire tunnel needs to be sealed. Upon clearing the district, you will be able to get to Thameshaven Market.

Seal The breach

Your map will update, providing a new route to the abandoned district, where you’re able to plant the bomb given to you by the Ferryman. Leave him and his pet where they are to go down the out-of-order escalators, where you willexplore the flooded areas of Thameshaven. verify toconsume more of the Rad-X Rachel gaveyou to traverse this segment with ease.

Before leaving, make sure to open the chest next to the Ferryman. It contains ammo and the Suppressed Converted Crude Rifle, asniper inFallout: Londonwith a night vision scope that will prove useful against the enemies within the next area.

When you descend to the lower level, you will see awhite arrow pointing to where you need to go next, in which you must jump into the water and swim the rest of the way. Upon reaching the other side, follow the narrow footbridges, fighting the Leeches that may ambush you from the water. At the end of the large tunnel, you will see a wooden pillar indicating where to plant the Ferryman’s bomb.

Before planting the bomb, order your companion, if you are traveling with one, to wait on the other side where you entered. The explosion radius of the bomb is very large, and will instantly kill you if you’re caught within its AoE damage.

Plant the bomb, run straight back to the other side of the footbridge, and wait for the explosion to go off, which will only be a few seconds. Once you have completed this objective, retrace your steps back to where you found the wounded Ferryman and Sushi to report yourmission inFallout: London.
