Introduced inStar Wars Rebels, the World Between Worlds has become especially important toAhsoka’sStar Warstimeline. Not only was Ezra Bridger’s time in the World Between Worlds the very way Ahsoka escaped death in her epic battle with Darth Vader inRebels, but also, this is where she reunited with Anakin Skywalker and accepted the path of a Jedi inAhsoka.

Ahsoka is one ofStar Wars’best characters, andthe World Between Worlds has become a truly essential part of her story.

Why The World Between Worlds Matters To Star Wars

InRebels, the World Between Worlds is described as"a pathway between all time and space,“but it is also a realm that has a particularly strong connection to the Force. This has enabled a number of incredible moments to take place inStar Warsshows, ranging from the aforementioned rescue of Ahsoka Tano inRebelsto Ahsoka experiencing a series of memories in theAhsokashow. Within those memories, Ahsoka had to confront the brutal nature of the Clone Wars and the truth about what happened to her former master, Anakin.

These events were incredibly transformative for Ahsoka, who was still holding onto survivors' guilt from Order 66 and hadn’t yet accepted that she truly is a Jedi. In addition to this arc being critical for Ahsoka, it also reveals what the World Between Worlds could mean forStar Wars’future. The franchise has only just begun to explore what this mystical realm could offerStar Warscharacters, which means the possibilities are endless.

There’s So Much More Star Wars Could Do With The World Between Worlds

I was thrilled by both theRebelsandAhsokaarcs in the World Between Worlds becauseit felt in some ways likeStar Warswas breaking all the rules—in a good way. Time travel can be very difficult to pull off, but neither plot felt unearned or underdeveloped, and each brought about some of the most exciting moments inStar Wars’TV shows thus far. It was only through the World Between Worlds, in fact, that live-action Clone Wars was brought to life.

Given how revolutionary the World Between Worlds has already been inStar Wars, I can only imagine what the franchise could do with it next. Countless characters could explore their pasts or become completely transformed by this incredible plane of the Force, just as Ahsoka was, especially because it doesn’t need to adhere to the rules of time and space. ThisStar Warscosplay not only capturesAhsoka Tano’sWorld Between Worlds look but also serves as a reminder of all that could be to come in the franchise.
