Ryan Reynolds has returned asDeadpoolin a hilarious and heartwarming new video for a great cause.Deadpool & Wolverinehas become the most successful entry in theDeadpool movie franchise. As such, it is expected that the character will have a long future in theMarvel Cinematic Universe, even if it comes as a supporting player afterRyan Reynolds' Deadpool MCU future comments. Before that happens, Reynolds shows his leading man charm in the role once again alongside a returning character fromDeadpool & Wolverineand a major DC icon.

Ryan Reynoldshas shared a new holiday video in support of the SickKids Foundation, this time appearing as Deadpool alongside Kidpool and Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter to ask for donations for The Hospital for Sick Children. Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, will match all donations up to $500,000 made before midnight on December 24th.

In the video, Deadpool and Kidpool discuss “eliminating sick kids,” which actually means getting donations to eliminate their sickness. Due to the characters' R-rated nature, Wonder Woman actress Lynda Carter comes in. Plenty of hilarious DC references follow, including nods to Henry Cavill, Batman, Wonder Woman’s classic costume change by spinning, and more.

Who Are SickKids And What Do They Do?

SickKids has been helping children have a better life for a long time. The Hospital for Sick Children was inaugurated in 1875. Since then, the Canadian foundation has been working hard on developing new ways to help kids fight diseases and live a healthy life. The SickKids Foundation receives donations to care for patients and, through research, innovate on forms of how to do it. Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is a long-time donor and partner of the organization. The new DC-filled Deadpool video marks the sixth time that Reynolds helps SickKids during its annual fundraising campaign.

Our Take On The Superhero Video

Deadpool’s Charm Is Put On Display Again

As for the video itself, it is Reynolds at his best. Deadpool and Kidpool have great chemistry in the promo, and I would have loved it if the characters had interacted more inDeadpool & Wolverine, now that we see the potential in the partnership. Of course, the DC of it all can’t be ignored.Lynda Carter appears as a “wonderful woman,” not Wonder Woman, all because of DC’s lawyers, as noted by Deadpool when Carter does her classic suit-up spin, only to appear with The Ugly XMas sweater that Reynolds has made famous.

Deadpool 4: Everything We Know

With Deadpool & Wolverine being the most anticipated movie of 2024, it’s worth looking ahead to if Deadpool will return again for Deadpool 4.

Reynolds had previously shared photos and videos of himself as Deadpool in Christmas settings. I was one of those who was hopeful that Marvel could be delivering a surprise Deadpool Holiday Special after the success ofDeadpool & Wolverine, but that was not meant to be. That said, I’m even happier that Reynolds' newDeadpoolappearance ended up being for the SickKids Foundation’s fundraising campaign. All the nods to DC, particularly the one to Henry Cavill after the Superman actor appeared inDeadpool & Wolverineas a Logan variant, were delightful, and it was all for a good cause.
