How The DC Universe’s Supergirl Is Set To Be Different To The DCEU’s

While Supergirl inthe DCEU movie timelinehad a very short run, there will be a lot of differences between Calle and Alcock’s iterations of the character. A key factor to remember here is that Calle’s Supergirl was the result of Barry Allen messing with the timeline as he traveled back in time to alter his own past, which in turn created a new present for the rest of the DCEU. In this world, Kal-El never became a hero as he didn’t grow up and instead died as a baby.

InJames Gunn’s DC Universe, Supergirl will exist at the same time as Superman, who will be played by David Corenswet in the 2025 film. Alcock’s Kara will also be heavily influenced by the version that headlines theSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowcomic, on which her solo film is based. Gunn has also stated that this Supergirl will be"a much harsher and more f—ked up Supergirl than we’ve been used to this far.”

Hopefully, more news aboutSupergirl: Woman of Tomorrowwill emerge over the next few months as 2024 gets ready to close out.
