Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for The Penguin episode 3.The Penguinhas created the perfect dark story for Robin’s replacement in the world ofThe Batman. Robert Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne is still young, which made him not having a Robin inThe Batmanmake sense. However, there might not be a sidekick in the Dark Knight’s future, or at least Robin will not play a role inThe Batman - Part II’s story. The reason for that isDCStudios co-CEO James Gunn hasdebunked a rumor that Dick Grayson would appear inThe Batman’s sequel.
WhileThe Batman - Part IIdoes not come around, the Gotham City that was crafted by director Matt Reeves inThe Batmanis being expanded. HBO’sThe Penguinis doing a great job of getting down to the streets of Gotham and revealing the power games that go on unnoticed by Batman. Amid the city’s dark corners is a story that shows howThe Batman’s world features a dark, twisted version of Robin, only he has no relation to the Dark Knight, but plays a key role inThe Penguin’s cast.

The Penguin Sets Up A New Take On DC’s Robin
Victor Aguilar Has A Robin Origin Story
Victor Aguilar is one of the most important characters inThe Penguin. While he is not destined to become Robin, Aguilar does have a very similar origin story as one of Batman’s sidekicks.Like Jason Todd in DC Comics, Aguilar was trying to steal the wheels of a carwhen he was recruited by the vehicle’s owner. However, unlike Jason, Aguilar was brought into the world of crime by Colin Farrell’s Penguin, not called to become Robin by Batman.
DC’s Gotham Gang War Is Subtly Setting Up The Perfect New Villain For Pattinson’s Batman Sequels
HBO’s The Penguin is setting up a gang war that could lead to the perfect villain for The Batman - Part II, and it is not Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb.
Much like the Batman/Robin dynamic in the comics, there is also an uneven balance of power between Victor and the Penguin. Oz Cobb has been playing the long game in the criminal underworld, which makes him an experienced veteran in the situation he and Victor are in. However, the young character had no ties to that world prior to meeting Oz, which gives the Penguin all the power in the relationship.Oz slowly pushes Victor into this life of crime, with Aguilar wowed by the new life he could never have without the Penguin.

Penguin Reveals The Dark Truth About Sidekicks
Oz Cobb Can Be Very Convincing
There is another major connection betweenThe Penguin’s Victor Aguilar and Robin. Victor was never meant to be involved in the criminal world, and his innocence is being explored by Oz. The character has become so impressed by the Penguin’s promises and wealth thatVictor decides not to leave with his girlfriendat theend ofThe Penguinepisode 3. Instead of choosing a life without crime, Victor went completely into his “partnership” with Oz. He is putting himself in dangerous situations for Oz, just like Robin does for Batman, and that could end badly for him inThe Penguin.
