Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood Warepisode #10is set to return to the surreal battle between Mayuri and Pernida, which it turns out wasn’t quite as concluded as it appeared to be. After all, it seems the Left Hand of the Soul King won’t be going down quite so easily.

Episode #9 ofThousand-Year Blood Warsaw the focus turn primarily to Captain Kyoraku, who opted to separate from his companions and challenge Lille Barro directly. By using his Shikai to implement the rules of children’s games, Kyoraku was able to get close to Barro and actually take a few swipes at him. Once his allies were far enough away, Kyoraku began to deploy his Bankai for the first time on screen, a lavish display based on the traditions of Japanese theater that entrapped his opponent in a play with him. What Happened in Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3, Episode #9?

Captain Kyoraku Battles Lille Barro

Tired of seeing his troops being sniped out from beside him, Captain Kyoraku made a bold stand against the Sternritter known as Lille Barro, able to travel to his location in the blink of an eye. Nanao initially followed him, but was told to tell the others to keep moving. Kyoraku used his Shikai, forcing Lille Barro into a children’s game, and was able to damage his rifle quite substantially, although Barro was able to regenerate it. The battle continued to escalate, with Barro forced to open his eye three times, allowing him to use his full power against Kyoraku.

As Lille Barro moved on to his Vollstandig, Zilliel, Kyoraku moved onto using his Bankai–something he rarely employs, as it can be a risk to his allies as well as his enemies.Kyoraku’s Bankai, Katen Kyokotsu: Karamatsu Shinju, traps Kyoraku and his opponent in a play in the role of the leads, who must act out the events of the play, which involve two lovers fighting, until one is overcome with guilt, and they attempt a double suicide. The Bankai was so powerful its effects could be felt across Wahr Welt, and it gave Kyoraku the edge, although the fight is still yet to be concluded.

Captain Kyoraku uses his Bankai.

Mayuri may finally have to admit he’s in a little over his head and get some help from his compatriots, as much as he might dislike the idea.

Specifically, Nemu will finally be joining the fight, ready to aid her captain in whatever way he might need. The episode is likely to reveal a significant portion of Nemu’s backstory, which has been hinted at but never before laid out for fans. Whether Nemu has what Mayuri needs to finally emerge from this battle victorious will just have to remain to be seen.

Mayuri’s Bankai is damaged from the inside by Pernida.
