AlthoughDragon Age: The Veilguardreleases a little before the new PS5 Pro console, the game is being designed to offer an enhanced version for players using the new system, although it may not be what everyone is expecting. The fantasy RPG is expected to feature stunning graphics on all platforms it is launching on and therefore is already limiting its release to the current gen systems. Using the expanded capabilities that the PS5 Pro offers is said to make that experience even more impressive.
Recently, EA released some information on the game specifications and requirements forDragon Age: The Veilguard.Among this information was a note from BioWare Studio Technical Director,Maciej Kurowski, stating that players “will immediately notice an improved experience with PS5 Pro.” Although the statement noticeably left out any confirmation of the coveted 4K 60 FPS,PS5 Pro players will benefit from the improved resolution on both 30FPS and 60FPS modes and ray tracing available for 60 FPS Performance mode.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Will Not Run At 4K 60 FPS
But Will Have Many Other Visual Improvements
IfDragon Age: The Veilguardwas able to feature 4K 60 FPS, that would have been a highlighted feature in the announcement regarding the performance qualities of the game. This point being excluded does not necessarily mean that it will not be able to hit that framerate, but the developers likely were unable to make the game consistently stable with those conditions.
Maciej Kurowski, BioWare Studio Technical Director, “The game’s Fidelity and Performance modes will both see improvements on the hardware, including improved resolution in 30FPS Fidelity and 60FPS Performance modes. Additionally, there will be various improved visual settings across 30FPS Fidelity and 60FPS Performance mode.

The team at BioWare is proud of how immersed players will be when they enter the beautiful world of Thedas, with upgraded image quality thanks to Sony’s new AI-based upscaler, PSSR. We’ve enabled Raytraced Ambient Occlusion (RTAO) in the 60FPS Performance mode, which previously was only available on the base PlayStation 5 with 30FPS Fidelity mode.”
Even without the 4K 60 FPS benchmark,Dragon Age: The Veilguardwill offer a much better visual quality and performance on PS5 Pro than on the base PS5 console. The power provided by the new system will make for much smoother gameplay overall, and the upgraded image quality will make the beautiful environment of Thedas even more immersive and stunning.

If Sony Fans weren’t already sold on the new PlayStation 5 Pro, Diablo 4 fans might just have a major reason to get their hands on one.
The cost of the new PS5 Pro is still something that may prevent many from taking the leap to a new system, yet the upgraded abilities and power that the PS5 Pro adds will greatly enhance many gaming experiences. Particularly as new games such asDragon Age: The Veilguardare released for the system, many players may find that the upgrades it provides are worth the price.
