What The Accountant’s Streaming Success Means For The Sequel

Will It Repeat The Original’s Success?

Though it’s been almost 10 years sinceThe Accountant’s endingseemingly wrapped up the story of Affleck’s Christian Wolff, there does seem to be anticipation regarding the sequel. The fact that audiences are revisiting the original could indicate that the follow-up will find success in theaters. The Accountant 2brings back some key elements from the original, including Jon Bernthal as Christian’s brother, Brax, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Marybeth Medina, with a story that follows Christian and Brax as they investigate the death of J.K. Simmons' Ray King.

Another positive sign is thatThe Accountant 2reviewshave been more positive than those for the original movie. Following the sequel’s premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival earlier this month,it debuted on Rotten Tomatoes to a score of 84%, a significant jump up from the original’s 53%. Though it’s unclear whetherThe Accountant’s sequel will be able to achieve the same level of box office success, the signs are certainly looking promising.
