What This Means For Weapons

Weapons Is No Less Than Barbarian

Weaponsis currently scheduled for an early 2026 release, but based on Paxton’s comment, it seems likethe film is already assembled. It’s unclear what the wait is about, but Paxton’s update on the post-production ofWeaponsis very positive. Filming started in May and wrapped in July. Even just a few months into post-production, it sounds like the film is already close to the finish line. It might even be possible for fans to seetheBarbariandirector’s next filmsooner than expected.

Barbarian’s Original Villain Design Would’ve Given Away The Movie’s Twist

The original design of The Mother in Barbarian was criticized for not being scary. This plays into the film’s theme that she is not the real monster.

Weaponsstars Josh Brolinand Julia Garner in the lead roles. Joining him are Benedict Wong, Alden Ehrenreich, Amy Madigan, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, June Diane Raphael, and the newly confirmed Paxton. InBarbarian,Paxton made a few sneaky voice cameos. Her comment seems to point toher involvement inWeaponsbeing something similar in nature. It’s also possible that she might make another voice appearance.

Our Take On Weapons

It’s Top Secret For Now

Barbarianreceived overwhelmingly positive reviewswhen it came out. Cregger’s directorial debut also had his wife’s seal of approval. Paxton shared her review in a post on X, in which she described the film as an"intense, insane, absolutely bonkers ride!“However, she seems to beintentionally holding backher thoughtsonWeapons. She couldn’t be more vague when describing her husband’s upcoming film.

Secrecy is Cregger’s style after all, andBarbarianhit fans with an unexpectedly wild ridein 2022, partially due to how tightly under wraps things were kept. IfWeaponswere to achieve the same effect,a high level of secrecy is required, so for now, the only thing to know is that the film has the potential to be mind-blowingly good.
