Pyromancers inAvowedare all about high damage and AoE, and as long as you don’t mind being a glass cannon,this build will invest heavily in Might and Intellect.Might will increase your overall damage from all sources and should be the top priority, and it can be increased in various ways outside of point investment, such as Kai’s companion training. Intellect is your second important stat as it controls how much Essence you have available for casting spells.

The best options for a Pyromancer are the four main Fire spells in the Wizard tree:Fan of Flames, Fireball, Ring of Fire, and Meteor Shower.You’ll want to find a Grimoire of Embers early on and decide whether you want to cast from the Grimoire directly for the upcast bonus. If you’d rather have an additional weapon slot, your spells will be slightly less powerful until you fully rank them up. My preference is to use the Grimoire of Embers for the upcasted spells and save the extra ability points for Essence and Health abilities, such as Toughness.
The Forge’s Friend Hammer also comes in handy for smashing Fire-resistant or immune enemies, such as Fire Blights.
Once I got the Forge’s Friend hammer from Mt. Forja Summit, I decided to take Stunning Blows from the Fighter tree for the additional Stun build-up. I mostly used this hammer to whack the toughest enemy a few times on the noggin andhit them with a special attack to summon a free Greater Fire Blight, then went back to raining hellfire on any and all enemies in my path. By the time you hit level 21, you can max out the Scion of Flame ability for maximum Fire accumulation, and there won’t be many enemies that can escape it.

This means you may save yourself at least four ability points by using a Grimoire to achieve the max rank. I’d recommend theSheathed in Summerdagger or theLast Light of Daysword for early weapon options.

The one disadvantage is that you will be a bit squishy, but this can be mitigated with armor and equipment or ability reallocation.
