Diablo 4just started theSeason of Witchcrafton January 21, and it has brought some changes to the game’s six classes. Five of the game’s classes - Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, and Sorcerer - are available in the base version ofDiablo 4. The DLC expansion,Vessel of Hatred, introduced thepowerful Spiritborn classwhich, in its original form, blew all other classes out of the water in terms of damage. Since it was introduced in Season 6, this new season is the first time changes are being made to the class.
Theclass changes forDiablo 4’s latest season are a mix of buffs, nerfs, and bug fixesmeant to help balance out the classes a bit more. While certain classes have improved significantly, others are still struggling to get up to speed. Players who were enjoying the Spiritborn’s exaggerated power from last season may also be a bit disappointed to see that it has been significantly changed for Season 7. With the latest level reset, players will likely want to know which classes are best for getting back up to 60 and which might be fun to try this season.

It’s exciting to see the Barbarian getting thrown some buffs in this season. The updates to Hammer of the Ancients specifically fit nicely with a new buildthat works well in Season 7. From looking at the listed changes, it might not seem like the Spiritborn was adjusted all that much. That’s because the main issues with the class came more from bugs that needed to be fixed than from the class itself. With its damage-scaling bugs addressed, the Spiritborn will likely be closer in power level to the game’s other five classes.
How Classes Are Different From Previous Seasons
Barbarians, Rogues, And Necromancers Got Significant Changes
Although still not the most powerful class, the Barbarian is somewhat of a standout this season.Building a Barbarian for the endgamearound Hammer of the Ancients and Earthquake works a lot better now, not just because of the HotA adjustments, but also because of a new unique item: Mantle of the Mountain. This item shoots out a line after a Hammer of the Ancients activation, which will activate an Earthquake if it hits an enemy, dealing area of effect damage. The Whirlwind build for Barbarians also saw some improvement this season, making multiple builds for the class more powerful.
Another big change has been to the Rogue’s Shadow Clone. Whereas previously the Shadow Clone didn’t do nearly as much as the player,it has been significantly buffed so it acts a lot more like a true extension of one’s character. The clone now benefits from class modifiers depending on the Rogue’s build, making its abilities much more powerful.
Similar to the Rogue’s Shadow Clone, the Necromancer’s minions have also gotten a nice update this season. Now, every minion the Necromancer summons scales alongside the character to ensure they feel equally effective in the late game as they do early on. One thing to note is that, while Necromancers were buffed, players shouldn’t expect them to be as powerful as they were in the PTR leading up to the season. Some bugs increased damage for Necromancers during the testing period and have since been addressed.
Which Is The Best Class To Use In Season 7
Necromancers And Rogues Stand Out In The New Season
It’s hard to say there is one definitive best class forDiablo 4Season 7 because it depends on what players are looking for. Some classes are better for quickly leveling, while others might level more slowly but scale better for the endgame. That said, there are definitely some standout classes this season.
Buffs to both the Rogue and the Necromancer make them easy choices for Season 7. Having Shadow Clones or minions that output more damage is a big boost for these classes. Both classes are also good at both leveling and in the endgame, making them two of the best all-around classes this season.
Barbarians are another class to watch this season. Their updates have given them a much more interesting build and made them a better endgame option. That said, they probably still won’t be the fastest characters to level with. Barbarians are aDiablostaple and have been in every game, so if this is someone’s favorite class, and they’ve been waiting for it to get good inDiablo 4, Season 7 is the time.
