Gordon Ramsayhas had several of his shows premiere new seasons in 2024, and he even had one completely original series debut. French-trained, Michelin-starred chef Gordon Ramsay is not only a master of the cooking arts, but he’s also one of themost influential television chefs, and even, arguably, television personalities, of the 21st century. Since his first appearance in the 1999 British documentary miniseries,Boiling Point, Gordon Ramsay has been a staple of the reality TV and cooking TV landscape, working as a host and judge on numerous successful series.
Well known for his fiery temper and frequent use of profanity,Gordon Ramsay is always good for a quote. Since most American audiences were introduced to the celebrity chef via the US version ofHell’s Kitchen, Ramsay was known as something of a tyrant stateside for a few years. It was only when he began making more shows that viewers got a chance to see the humorous Ramsay, who was keen to help those who asked. Two decades afterHell’s Kitchenpremiered,Ramsay is still putting out new shows and seasons in 2024.

Season 3 ofNext Level Chefpremiered in January 2024 with Gordon Ramsay returning to host and mentor alongside Nyesha Arrington and Richard Blais.Next Level Chefsees contestant chefs divided into three teams under the guidance of one of the mentors as they compete in a series of cooking challenges. In the show, three kitchens are stacked on top of each other with the top well-stocked with modern appliances, the middle containing standard commercial equipment, and the bottom containing limited and lower-quality tools.
Hell’s Kitchen: All The Restaurants Gordon Ramsay Owns (Locations, Names & Worth)
Chef Gordon Ramsay, best known for ranting at contestants on Hell’s Kitchen, owns a ton of restaurants, located all over the globe. Find out where.
Each episode, the teams are assigned to one of the kitchens to complete their challenges. Season 3 followed a similar format as previous ones with the contestants being a mix of professional, home, and social media chefs. The winner of the season ended up being social media chef Gabi Chappel. The changing kitchen aspect of the show makes for some creative opportunities that are fun to watchand also reveal who is not quite as talented or relaxed in the kitchen as their co-stars.

MasterChef Juniorfollows the usualMasterChefformat, though, of course, with children between the ages of eight and thirteen as contestants. Season 9 began in March 2024 and ended with Bryson McGlynn of Alabama as the winner. This season saw the return of Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sanchez, and Daphne Oz as judges with the addition of a fourth judge, Tilly Ramsay, Gordon’s daughter with Tana Hutcheson. With 12 contestants, season 9 had the lowest amount of contestants in aMasterChef Juniorseason since the premiere.
The small number of contestants, the shorter season, and only having one episode per challenge lent a low-budget feeling to this season and almost made it seem like a special season or mini-season. Tilly also did not seem super comfortable this season, andthere wasn’t as much banter between her and her father like there was in the “Home for the Holidays” specialin December 2023.

4Idiot Sandwich
Season 1
Gordon Ramsay’s only new show of 2024,Idiot Sandwich, premiered in January 2024 and is named after the famous “Idiot Sandwich” meme of Ramsay placing talk-show host Julie Chen’s head between two pieces of bread while yelling at her (viaKnowYourMeme). As the title implies,Idiot Sandwichis a sandwich-making competition for YouTube and TikTok content creators. It’s a YouTube show with shortened episodes and new contestants for each challenge.
The “Idiot Sandwich” meme comes from a comedy skit, not a moment in a reality show as some assume.

These episodes see the contestants performing in public with large crowds cheering them on. Ramsay is not in the shouting business in this show, acting much more like a host than a judge, chatting with the audience and asking the contestants about their food history, only occasionally throwing one of his classic jabs. It’s a much lighter series than anything Ramsay has done before, but it’s still an easy watch thanks to the 11-15 minute-long episode.
Gordon Ramsay’s Food Starsseason 2 premiered in May 2024 and followed the same format as the previous season. A business competition show rather than a cooking one,Gordon Ramsay’s Food Starssees culinary entrepreneurs working together in teams to pitch and sell business ideas and get through food-business-related challenges to receive $250,000 and an investment from Ramsay himself. Lisa Vanderpump joined the show in season 2, which saw California-based Jess Druey win with her “Whiney Baby”, a wine company with Millennial-style branding.

The addition of Vanderpump was an excellent move in season 2, as she is one of the few reality hosts/judges able to keep up with Ramsay’s crackling tongue and harsh digs.
A mix ofShark TankandHell’s Kitchen,Gordon Ramsay’s Food All Starsis a refreshing change to the usual Ramsay reality show format and showcases his excellent business sense, which isn’t always on display in cooking shows. The addition of Vanderpump was an excellent move in season 2, as she is one of the few reality hosts/judges able to keep up with Ramsay’s crackling tongue and harsh digs.

Hell’s Kitchenpremiered its 23rd seasonin September 2024 and brought back the classic high-stakes, high-tension cooking show that’s kept it one of the most popular on television. Sous-chef James Avery returned to help the Blue Team, while former competitor, Michelle Tribble, was assigned to the Red Team. This was the first season to take place on the East Coast, at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. 29-year-old executive chef Kyle Timpson ended up winning the competition.
Hell’s Kitchenhas always been a cooking show more interested in the “reality” portion of the reality cooking competition than the actual cooking, and season 23 continues that trend. While the season was filled with the usual mistakes and dressing-downs by Ramsay, there were some interesting bright spots, such as Ramsay talking Egypt Davis into staying on the show in episode 5.

One ofthe best cooking shows on the air,MasterChef USAcontinued to set the reality cooking standard in season 14, which premiered in May 2024.MasterChef USAfollows the classicMasterChefformula established with the British series, with amateur and home chefs competing against one another in a variety of food and cooking-related challenges to become the titular “MasterChef”. Season 14 sees the return of Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez, and Joe Bastianich as judges.
Season 14’s theme was “generations” and had contestants selected from the Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millenials, and Generation Z. Michael Leonard, a Millennial business owner from South Carolina, took home the title. Michael was a fan favorite all season long, and his win was a gratifying reward for his fans. The different generation aspect worked well this season and created some natural rivalriesthat were fun to explore and root for. Each generation had a style that served them best in different challenges.
