Warning: This article contains spoilers for Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses, Crescent City, and Throne of Glass.Sarah J. Maas is still working to complete herA Court of Thorns and Rosesnovels, and it’s likely the next book in the series will continue a trend first introduced in Maas’House of Flame and Shadow. The idea of a multiverse—or Maasverse—has been looming overMaas' fantasy book seriesfor years, andHouse of Flame and Shadowfinally sees this scenario play out. The third book in theCrescent Cityseries sees Bryce find her way into theACOTARuniverse, marking Maas' first-ever series crossover.

Now that the idea of multiple realms has been established in the series, it would be exciting for Maas to reintroduce one of her best characters in thenextA Court of Thorns and Rosesnovel. Considering the wyrd gates originated from theThrone of Glassstoryline,it’s possible one or more characters from Maas' first fantasy series will make an appearance in a futureACOTARnovel. Given Aelin Galathynius is one ofMaas' best book heroines, the inclusion of her character inA Court of Thorns and Roseswould be nothing short of amazing.

Throne of Glass' Aelin Galathynius Should Make An Appearance In A Future ACOTAR Book

Her Character Aligns With Maas' Future Narrative

House of Flame and Shadow’s crossover with theACOTARseries has hopefully kickstarted a new trend Maas will continue in future books. And whileThrone of Glassis a fully completed series, this shouldn’t stop its characters from appearing in Maas' other fantasy novels.Maas had already teased bothCrescent CityandA Court of Thorns and Roses in theThrone of Glassconclusion,Kingdom of Ash—and in doing so, first introduced the idea of the Maasverse. While these hints were subtle, it leaves an opportunity for Maas to reintroduce Aelin to a futureACOTARstoryline.

InKingdom of Ash, Aelin is falling between worlds and sees a Fae male with wings embracing his pregnant wife—this is widely accepted to be Rhys and Feyre fromA Court of Thorns and Roses.

Out of all of Maas’Throne of Glasscharacters, Aelin Galathynius remains one of her best. And while herThrone of Glassstoryline may be complete,Aelin could still serve as an important supporting character in a futureA Court of Thorns and Rosesnovel. Aelin is responsible for closing the wyrd gates in her own realm, and is probably the most knowledgeable about “world-walking” than any other Maas character. With Maas' series crossover already teasing the multiverse storyline, it would make sense for Aelin’s character and her knowledge of the wyrd gates to be reintroduced inACOTAR.

A Throne Of Glass Crossover Is Likely Inevitable

Maas has stated on multiple occasions that both theA Court of Thorns and RosesandCrescent Cityseries' are far from finished—and she has plans to publish multiple books for each in the next several years. KnowingtheHouse of Flame and Shadowcrossover was just the beginning, it’s likely future novels will continue the multiverse storyline—especially after receiving so much praise from fans. However, until thesixthA Court of Thorns and Rosesbookis released, it’s uncertain how prevalent the Maasverse will be in the upcoming narrative.

The ACOTAR, Throne Of Glass & Crescent City Timeline Explained

ACOTAR, Throne of Glass, and Crescent City share a setting and collectively span a few years, with some time markers to establish the timeline.

Assuming the nextACOTARnovel will finally explore Elain’s story and romantic arc, Maas already has a lot on her hands in terms of storytelling—and it’s possible that any multiverse crossover will be minimal to start. However, that doesn’t shut the door to a larger multiverse storyline further down the line, and the nextACOTARbook may plant the seeds needed to do so. As bothCrescent CityandA Court of Thorns and Roseshave several similarities and ties to theThrone of Glassseries, it’s likely a crossover between the three in the future is inevitable.
