Now that fans know that Flagg is in the Energon Universe, it will be interesting to see what Skybound does with the character in the new continuity.

General Flagg’s introduction is a pretty big reveal to endDestro#3, and while readers don’t yet know what deal is on the table between Destro and Flagg, it certainly raises a number of interesting story possibilities. Flagg first appeared in 1982’sG.I. Joe: A Real American Hero#1, where he was established as the commander of the G.I. Joe strike team, a position he held until he was killed by Major Bludd inG.I. Joe: A Real American Hero#19. Although he wasn’tin the original continuity for long, Flagg left a large shadow on the franchise thereafter.

Perhaps most notably, the General was the namesake of the U.S.S. Flagg aircraft carrier. Now that fans know that Flagg isin the Energon Universe, it will be interesting to see what Skybound does with the character in the new continuity. Colonel Hawk has already been established as the leader of the G.I. Joe team, so Flagg’s role remains to be determined. It has also already been revealed that there ismore than one Joe team in operation,so there are several interesting strands for the brand-newG.I. Joeongoing series to follow when it launches.

With the added complication of Destro working with General Flagg, and the U.S. military, in some capacity, it should prove to be an epic conclusion, leading directly into the newG.I. Joeongoing series.
