Pokémon TCG Pocketis scheduled for full releaseon July 10, 2025, for mobile devices. It will be free to download, with a heavy focus on in-game purchases for buying the virtual booster packs in order to build up a collection. This app takes advantage of technology for their artworkby making many of the images rise up, coming off the static card with quick animations or effects, and some cards will even open up into an immersive scene. These awe-inspiring designs could prove to be many collectors' dream.

10Meowth Watches Over The Street Below

Genetic Apex Set, Secret Rare, Promos

Though some of these virtual cards are immersive with full scenes carrying on when clicked, many appear most like a traditional card in thePokémon TCGsets, including full art card Secret Rares such as this Meowth. In this image,Meowth is shown watching over a city street at night, from his spot perched on a streetlamp. The glow of the lighting on this night scene makes this card come alive.

Cards inPokémon Pocketwill not be visibly numbered, but have internal numbering within the app to organize the virtual binders and see what cards are missing from a collection.

Interestingly, many of the standard cards in the set, which do not feature the full card illustrations, use the same artwork and images from pastPokémon TCGsets. All Secret Rare styles that have been shown thus far do have brand-new art and styles to show off, however.

9Moltres ex Is The Only Among The Legendary Birds To Be Shown Yet

Genetic Apex Set, Secret Rare

Moltres is generally joined by Articuno and Zapdos to form the Legendary Bird Trio, but so far inPokémon TCG Pocket, Zapdos seems to have gotten left behind. Both Moltres ex and Articuno ex have been given stunning new full art.

Thedazzling effects in this full illustration Moltres ex card shinewith the enhanced visual styles of the mobile app, making the card even more powerful looking than ever. Thankfully, due to these cards not needing to be protected from damage, people playing the card game throughPokémon TCG Pocketcan use these rare illustrationcards in their decks to strike fear in their opponents.

8Eevee Is Portrayed With A Soft And Cozy Design

The cuddly fan-favoriteEevee is often given illustrations that show off the cuteness of this little Pokémon, andPokémon Pocketis no exception. Using softer colors and an overall cozy feel, Eevee’s Secret Rare showcases the little one perhaps getting into a little mischief. With toys scattered around and a room design that could easily be the same room fromTwilight Masquerade’s full art card of Eevee.

10 Pokémon TCG: Twilight Masquerade Illustration Rares You’ll Want ASAP

Whether to collect amazing artwork or hoping for valuable cards, there are some incredible secret rares for Pokémon TCG: Twilight Masquerade.

Hopefully, in future expansions forPocket, Eevee will be given an immersive card treatment to peak behind the curtain. For now, though, this card still provides a serene and cheerful addition to any collection.

7Sabrina Gives A Powerful Pose For Her Full Card Return

Genetic Apex Set, Charizard Booster Pack, Secret Rare

Saffron City Gym Leader, Sabrina, doesn’t have very many full art cards in thePokémon TCGwhich feature her, although she has several standard cards and many which are of her various Pokémon. This full art card forPokémon Pockettruly does her justice, whileits colors represent some of the Psychic-type powers that she often wields through her Pokémon.

As a two-star rarity Supporter card, her image is highlighted by some holographic and sparkling effects that are only possible through the virtual designs of the app. Though not confirmed at the time of writing, it is reported that this card may be limited to only appearing in the Charizard Booster Packs ofGenetic Apex.

6Lapras Looks Happy In This Beautiful Artwork

This stylistic illustration for Lapras done by Haru Akasaka gives a comic book feeling to the piece. The use of line art makes Lapras stand out among the crashing waves of the ocean. In the art, it appears as though Lapras is laughing and gleefully splashing in the water. Althoughthe design does not have any of the impressive visual effects that the full art ex cards use, it still includes the holofoil border around this cheerful illustration.

Looking closely at the artwork for this Lapras card, one can even spot a surfing Pikachu enjoying the wake left behind by Lapras’s waves. This is a nice callback to the anime and is something recreated in otherPokémonproperties, so it’s great to see it here. There is certainly no question about what type Lapras is, with so many water elements amplified here.

5Pidgeot Holds A Doomed Magikarp

One of the chase cards for theGenetic ApexexpansionofPokémon TCG Pocketis this Pidgeot card featuring a slice of life image. Although Magikarp lovers may not appreciate the artwork, canonically, Pidgeot has been shown in the anime tocatch and eat otherPokémon, including Magikarp.

Like Lapras, Pidgeot’s full art card does not have all the special effects of some rarer cards, other than including the holofoil border. Its artwork speaks for itself though, with its feeling of movement even in the static image. For play, this card is also a strong one to bring to the table and is useful to have in a deck.

4Squirtle Artwork Has A Peaceful Focus On Water

Another Water-type to make the list, Squirtle has always been a beloved favorite to manyPokémonfans of all ages.In recent sets, such asTwilight Masquerade, many of the starters such as Squirtle had matching full art cards with their evolutions, which seemed to tell a story when placed side-by-side. While this may still occur inPokémon TCG Pocket, so far there have been no full art cards shown or announced for Wartortle or Blastoise.

Pokémon TCG’s Cutest Accessory Has One Glaring Problem

While a long-awaited accessory is finally available for fans worldwide, it may not be as great as players think.

The peaceful look of the water as Squirtle is swimming in this card illustration begs for an immersive effect to be given to it, although sadly it was not given that treatment. This card, though beautiful, is only a static image without extra visual effects. It’s artwork alone will probably make it one of the must-have new cards, though.

3Articuno ex Looks Majestic In An Icy Wonderland

While its fiery companion, Moltres ex, had a powerful appearance of flames on its full art Secret Rare card in the set, Articuno ex has a chillier feeling. This snow and ice loving addition to the Legendary Bird Trio looks as though it is flying in a snowstorm with crashing waves in the water beneath. Looking closely, there is even a little blue Seadra peaking its head out of the water below the text of the card, looking up at the massive bird.

Articuno ex is a strong card in play, although it keeps with the game’s ex rule of allowing opponents to receive two points when an ex card is knocked out from play. Stil, this should be one of the most sought-after cards in thePokémon TCG Pocketgame once it launches.

2Pikachu ex Opens Into A World Of Serenity

Only Found In The Pikachu Genetic Apex Booster Packs, Immersive Art

Two immersive cards have been shown off thus far, and perhaps they are the only ones to receive the immersive treatment for this set. Immersive cards have a unique grey swirling border to help make them more easily distinguishable, and when tapped on, they will begin an animation that gives a tour of the world beyond the illustration on the front.

Among the two immersive cards announced is acharming Pikachu ex.As the above video fromPokeBeachshows, the card takes players on a tour of a field scene with numerous other Pokémon around the area. It still has a bit of a 2D effect even while exploring the image, and each character within the scene is frozen in place while the camera pans over them.

1Mewtwo ex Features Haunting Immersive Card Art

Only Found In The Mewtwo Genetic Apex Booster Packs, Immersive Art

The only other immersive card to be shown so far is the Mewtwo ex card. It will only be available in the marked Mewtwo Booster Packs forGenetic Apex, and has a haunting feel to it. No movies have been provided yet online to show what the full immersive experience of this card will portray, but it appears to be a scene with Mewtwo escaping its lab confinement.

The look on Mewtwo’s face is perfectly captured in a way that makes it look either angry or afraid, depending on how one perceives it. Seeing this event in an immersive card experience will be a special addition to any collection forPokémon TCG Pocket.
